BJ and I knew Great Grandma would not be happy when our dad threw Aunt Cameo's stuff out the door. For years Dad and Aunt Cameo have been through an argument and now was the year Dad finally snapped. If you don't know already, my name is AJ Hardwick and I'm like a wizard. My brother BJ is a psychic and even he didn't see this coming. We both gazed out our bedroom window watching Dad yell at Aunt Cameo and insulting her. Granny and Pappy would trying to settle the whole thing. Our cousin Carson was crying while our sister and cousin Skylar were calming her down. I know what you're thinking and the answer is yes. This whole family lives under one roof... actually two. Granny lives in her own house in the backyard so it's kinda like a two roofs in one type thing. "This is a disaster ," BJ replied. "I know, do you think Dad will kick out Carson as well?" I asked. BJ's eyes widen and shook his head, "Dad has been really annoyed with her a lot lately." It was true. Carson was a snob. Dad was always punishing her, but every time she just runs to her mom and her pout face and always gets out of it. Dad burns with anger and it's not like him to. Dad was a patient person, that is until his sister pushes his buttons. And Aunt Cameo is even snobbier than her daughter. We watched as Cameo drove her car, leaving her thrown out stuff behind. Dad came storming in. Granny and Pappy followed. BJ and I ran down the stairs. "Mom, I'm fine!" Dad snapped. "Asia, what is your sister suppose to do?" she asked. "Find herself another sucker to live with. I dueled with Cameo too long and she's always pushed me around. Enough is enough. If she's going to live here she's going to give respect to the butler and maid!" Pappy started talking with a lot of swear words while Granny stood against it. "Asia, where did my mom go?" Carson asked. Dad sighed, "I don't know, but not here." She ran to Granny and hugged her tight. "Well she can't just leave Carson here," "I told her to take Carson, but she refused," "Asia, what if she never comes back?" Granny asked. Dad rolled his eyes, "She'll be back, Carson I'm sure she wouldn't leave you behind." Carson wiped the tears off her face. The whole room was quiet now, "Shall I get dinner started?" asked Wilber, the butler. "Thank you, Wilber." Dad replied. We all headed to the kitchen, "AJ," whispered Magic our pet dog. "It's important this family learns to stay together." I sighed, Magic was right. Our great grandma and her sister were twins too. When we were born we were known as the next generation of twins within the whole family. As a reward their spirits gave us magical powers. With these powers came a catch. This family must learn to love and care as one. And it was our duty to be sure that happened. "But I just don't get it, what is the deal between those two anyway?" "Maybe your spell to view the past will help." Magic was our trainer, he was to help is learn exactly how to make these powers work . A few weeks ago I learned a time spell and we were going to use it after dinner tonight.
BJ, Magic, and I were in our room. "You ready?" Magic asked. I nodded. I held my magic book in one hand and read aloud, " We don't know what happen last tell an event from in the past." A bright circle flashed in front of us. inside we saw Dad just a years ago when he was living with Pappy. He was in the living room turning on the TV, "CAMEO! LEAVE MY CLOSE CAPTIONS ALONE!" Dad yelled. "ASIA WILL YOU SHUT UP ABOUT THOSE DUMB CAPTIONS!" Dad demanded Aunt Cameo to shut her trap as she told him she doesn't have to. They began to bicker until Pappy came in telling them both to calm down. BJ and I looked at each other in shock. The circle flashed again. This time it showed Carson, she was really young. Looked about the age of four. She was crying, Aunt Cameo was yelling at her, something about going to bed. Dad came in and demanded Aunt Cameo stop yelling at her. Once again Cameo told him to shut up and leave the problem alone. Dad refused and continued fussing. The flashing circle showed us many other multiple times have disagreed and ended up arguing. "Dad seems to argue with her a lot," BJ analyzed. "Seems to me Dad disagrees with a lot of things Cameo does." I said. "And your aunt likes to stand her grounds." Magic agreed. "BJ, what was this whole fight about anyway?" "Aunt Cameo's been tough on Wilber, yesterday she left all her clothes in the bathroom, but Dad told Wilber not to clean after her. Once Aunt Cameo started barking orders Dad blew it." "I thought it was about Aunt Cameo taking charge of the house? Yesterday she was moving the couch because the angle was wrong." I replied. "It's both!" The three of us turned around and saw Dad standing at the door, "You two are suppose to be in bed," I gulped, "Dad, what do you mean it's both?" Dad sighed, "Your Aunt Cameo always wanted things to go her way. When she was driving she'd yell at the other drivers because they were driving wrong! Your aunt is stubborn and doesn't care. 20 years ago she was mocking me because I watch cartoons instead of those reality mess you complains about. But boys, I'm my own person. Adults shouldn't be so placed in the real world. They should enjoy life whenever possible, but your aunt is never going to be like that." Dad seemed drifted. Like he was remembering something. "Dad, what's the problem with Carson?" Dad huffed, "She's always been spoiled. As much as I tried to guide her to the right path, your Pappy and Aunt Cameo guided her the wrong way. As the years went by she's gotten worse." Dad drifted again. I was going to ask if he loved Aunt Cameo, but Dad responded, "You two need to go to bed. I'm sure Magic has a lot to teach you two and your sister." We climbed into bed and Dad turned out the lights and closed the door. I couldn't fall asleep though, not just yet. Dad and Aunt Cameo were butting heads against each other, so it would take a miracle to get those two to get along.
