Chapter 6

Dinner for me, you & a kiss or two.

Jack is coming over at 6:00 and I've never been so nervous in my life, what if something goes wrong tonight? What if Todd get more mad about the situation? You know what, fuck it.

I get dressed and put on my makeup then walk out of my room towards the dining room to help Scott set the table. Kristen soon comes and helps us and me and her start talking about Jack

"So I get to met Jack tonight!" Kristen says as she tugs on my sleeve "I promise I won't embarrass you!"

"You'll like him, he's such a gentleman" I say and I feel my cheeks get hot

I hear a scoff behind me and turn around to see Todd his arms crossed

"What?" I say glaring at Todd

"Oh nothing" he chuckles and looks away when he hears a knock on the door "that must be Catherine"

When Todd opened the door I once again saw his smile go from giant to non existent, he opens the door wider and Jack walks in. Grasping the moment I run up to Jack and he grabs my waist and lifts me in a hug, he lowers me to the ground and leans in and puts his lips against mine.

We pull away from the kiss and in the corner of my eye I see Todd glaring at us, jealousy looks cute on him

Another knock on the doors occurs, Todd opens it and Catherine walks in and he leans in to kiss her but is blocked by her hand

"Todd, this is good lipstick" she says rolling her eyes and walking towards the couch to sit now

I giggle to myself enough for Todd to notice and shoot me a dirty look as he goes to accompany Catherine on the couch

-skip to when they're sitting at the table-

Kristen and Scott sit at each end, Jack and I sit beside one another and Todd is across from me and Catherine is across from Jack

We sit in an awkward silence until Kristen breaks the ice with a question

"So Jack, how did you and Madeline meet?" She asks drawing everyone's attention to Jack

"Well, I saw Madeline looking at cereal and I knew I wanted to talk to her so I hit her with my cart lightly by "accident" so she would notice me" he explains the looks over at me with a cheesy smile on his face "then after a small conversation I wrote my number down quickly and slid it into her cardigan pocket"

"Awh that's adorable!!" Kristen says looking at Jack with a smile

"Lame" Todd adds while aggressively stabbing his meat with his fork

There's a silent and everyone looked down at their plates but I was glaring at Todd

"Can I speak with you outside Todd?" I spat still glaring at him

He looks up at me with a huge smile "why of course Madeline!"

We both got up from the table and walked out the front door closing it behind us

"What's up" Todd says casually

"What's your problem?" I ask still glaring at him

"What do you mean?" He says, I can tell he's playing dumb and I'm not taking it

"Yes you do so what the fuck is your problem Todd" I say raising my voice

Todd steps closer and towers over me
"You want to know what my problem is? It's you! Me and Catherine were fine and all I could see was her but now you come along and all I see is you.." he says raising his voice as well

"Ha! Well that's not my fault and I'd appreciate if you would leave me and Jack out of this because this is on you" I say with attitude still glaring at him

"Another problem is this Jack guy like who the fuck is he, like why him?" He questions clearly shaken up by his name

"Well Todd maybe I want someone who is single, who tells me how he feels and isn't afraid to take action and try to get what he wants like is that so-" I was cut off by Todd crashing his lips on mine and I kiss back but I pull away quickly

He smiles down at me and says "how's that for taking action?"

"We don't tell anyone about what just happened" I said ignoring the hurt in his eyes as I storm into the house and over to the table being followed by Todd

We sit down and everyone's eyes are looking back and forth at Todd and I

"Everything alright?" Scott asks look at us

"Perfect" Todd says looking over at me
