Before Dawn
It was late after midnight. Jim was watching the television (just news). It was extremely boring for him, so he began to mimic the journalist. He also observed how some seemed like robots and looked as if they dreaded their life. He switched the channels a bit and stopped when he reached an animal channel on elephants.
Sebastian came in the door and gave a small chuckle finding Jim upside down on the sofa chair.
Jim wiggled his feet while watching the elephants drink water, “Elephants are such elegant creatures why would someone want to kill one? Just for their tusks? That's horrible”
Sebastian removed his jacket and sat on the arm of the sofa chair, “It’s a trophy to them.”
Jim flipped off the sofa and sat closely next to Sebastian’s legs, “So do you keep your victims… wallets or a strand of hair?”
“No because I am not a hunter, I am a mercenary.”
“Yes I forget you pretend to not have a soul and serve who ever pays you.”
“What makes you think I pretend to not have one?” Sebastian sat down close to Jim.
“Because you think you were trained that way.”
“I was raised that way.” They stared at each other for a long time not romantically. They were taunting each other almost flirting , “Why do you care about elephants if you kill humans without any remorse.”
“Because there is no fun in killing an animal. They aren’t cunning enough, it’s a game of strength yet hunters use a gun, so it’s unfair.”
“Is that why you loovveee to play with Sherlock and use people as your gambits.”
“oh you know me so well. That’s dangerous Sebastian, getting to close is always dangerous.”
Sebastian snarled while focusing his eyes on Jim who innocently smiled.
Sebastian leaned to kiss Jim but Jim rejected the approach, “I needed to talk to you about something.”
Sebastian growled, “Another case with Sherlock as always?”
“No there is a mission I need you to do. Just to kill this man that didn’t hold his part of a bargain.”
“Where?” Sebastian stood up and sat on the couch Jim was previously on, Jim stood up too pacing in front of him.
“In china.”
“You want me to go to china?”
“Yes and I will also need another mercenary while you are gone.”
“Why can’t you just hire someone to go to china and I could be with you?”
“Because I trust you better, Tiger.”
“I told you to stop calling me that.”
“Oh sorry, didn’t say that last night when I was moaning.”
“Jim!”
“You only don’t like me calling you that when you’re mad. But I still need you to go to china.”
