Can We Trust You? (Fifth Harmony fanfic)

CHAPTER 12

CAMILA'S POV.

I was woken by someone moving roughly on top of me. I looked at the person and realized it was Avery. She was twisting and turning and mumbling something. I looked at the clock and it read 3:00 am. Damn it's early. Avery was starting to get more violent so I decided to wake her up.

"Avery! Avery! Wake up! It's just a dream!" I said shaking her

Her eyes opened suddenly and she looked at me fearfully.

"Don't touch me!" She said scared trying to get up off me.

I held her down

"Avery it's ok it's me, Camila, I'm not going to hurt you." I said holding her and stroking her hair.

She started to cry into my shirt.

"Shhh... it's ok, I'm here" I said calming her down.

"He was coming at me. He was going to kill me!" Avery sobbed

"It was just a dream, your safe" I said softly

After a few minutes of sobbing Avery finally calmed down.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I asked

She looked at me hesitantly

"You don't have to if you don't want too." I said

"I want to" she said sighing.

FLASHBACK

AVERY'S POV.

I was watching Finding Nemo with my sister Jade and my two brothers, Gavin and Dallas when we heard our mommy scream and our daddy yelling at someone.

"Jade? What's going on?" I asked scared.

"Shhh... don't worry little one I'm right here." she said pulling all three of us closer to her.

We heard more screaming and some thumping and then I heard a loud noise. It sounded like a gunshot, and then I heard another one and then I didn't hear anything.

"Stay here guys, I'm going to go check it out." Jade said softly the by turning towards the door and walking out.

I looked at my brothers.

"I'm going too." I said following Jade.

"Avery! No! You can't! Jade said to stay here!" Gavin said grabbing my shoulder

"Since when do I listen to someone else's orders?" I said sharply then turning towards the door and walking out. I walked into the kitchen where I found my parents lying on the ground, both of the covered in blood. I looked around and saw a very tall man in black with a gun in his hand. He pointed it at me.

"Do you want to end up like your dear mommy and daddy sweetheart?" He asked

"No! Why did you hurt them?!?" I asked sobbing.

"Oh sweetie it doesn't matter, but your next." He said putting his finger on the trigger. Just as he was pulling it I saw a flash of blond hair run in front of me and then I heard the gunshot and watched in horror as my sister fell to the ground holding her stomach in pain. I ran to her and knelt down beside her.

"Jade?" I said touching her face.

"Avery you weren't supposed to come down here." Jade said, wincing in pain as I put my hand on her stomach.

"But you should have known I wouldn't listen." I said tears falling from my eyes.

"Haha I-I did know b-b-but you still should have l-listened t-to m-m-me" She said her breathing starting to get slower and her eyes closing.

"Jade! No! Don't leave me!!" I sobbed

"A-Avery, I-I w-want y-y-you to live y-your life, I-I-I'm not g-g-going to be t-there ok? P-promise m-me t-t-that your going t-to be an am-am-amazing woman." she said putting a shaky hand on my cheek to wipe the tears away

"I promise" I said putting my hand over her hand that was on my cheek.

"I l-l-love y-you" She said her eyes closing.

"I love you too." I cried

I felt her arm go limp and her breathing stop. I knew then she was gone. I sobbed holding her limp body. I looked back at my parents and sobbed harder. I went over and pulled all three of their body's closer to me. I looked up and saw the man smirking.

"Awwwww... that was cute. Now it's your turn." he said pointing the gun at me once again. This time there was no one to save me. I watched as he pulled the trigger and felt a sharp pain in my side. I fell down right next to Jade and my parents.

"I'm sorry Jade." I said and then blacked out.

I woke up and looked around frantically. I was in a hospital and their were machines hooked up to me and I heard faint beeping noises. I looked down and saw that my side was wrapped in gauze and there was blood that had seeped though it. A man opened my door and smiled. He looked pretty nice.

"I see your up! That's fantastic!" he said pulling a chair up to sit next to me.

"Where am I? What happened?" I asked worriedly

"Your in a hospital, a man came into your house and shot you and your family." He said his smiled faltering.

The memories of that night came rushing back into my head and I looked at him scared.

"W-Where's Gavin and D-Dallas?" I stuttered.

He frowned

"There dead, Avery, there all dead." He said putting his hand in me shoulder.

I felt my whole world come crashing down.

FLASHBACK OVER

CAMILA'S POV.

I starred at the small girl in my arms in pure shock. I didn't know what to say. I have never dealt with anything like this.

"I found out later that my brothers were killed right after he shot me... They both came down to see what was going on. The neighbors had called the cops and the only reason I survived is because he didn't shoot me in the right place and the cops came not that long after he shot Dallas and Gavin... I was alone... my family didn't want me. They thought I had to many emotional And physical problems so they all just left me in a orphanage near by." Avery said looking down sadly tears still rushing down her face.

I pulled her in closer to me and she started crying harder grabbing my shirt.

"It's ok Avery, I'm here I'm right here." I said stroking her hair.

"You remind me of my sister." She said calming down a little.

"Oh? And why is that?" I asked

She picked her head of my shirt and looked at me, her usually bright green eyes were now a dull grayish color.

"You always are there for me, even though you only have known me a few days." She said hugging me again

I wrapped my hands around her back and rubbed circles on her back until I felt her breathing even out. I looked down at her. She had her eyes closed... she was asleep. I sighed and laid us both back down. I stared at the ceiling thinking about how horrible her life has been so far and how I'm going to help her... and her friends.

Well that was depressing... but it had to be done, sorry.

I had softball tryouts today!

I think I did pretty well

So what's your favorite part in this book so far?

I think mine is when Riley and Avery wouldn't come down to go to the interview.

So I think either Madison or Riley's story is going to be in the next chapter... I still am not sure what Kat's is going to be lol

So I hope you liked the chapter and I'll update as soon as I can, maybe tomorrow or the next day... I'm not sure yet.
