Dear Mr. Ellis,
We've come to terms with being stuck at school on a Saturday, forced to marinate in the perpetually draining void that is detention. But you're kidding yourself if you think we'd spend it writing a meaningless paper on what we perceive ourselves to be.I'm guessing what we're really asking is, why the hell do you care? Your perception of us, from the way you approached us is merely the embodiments of several stereotypical beings found in every high school:
A prince...
He let out a frustrated sigh, " It's just a dumb parking space. It's not my fault Ms. Hagsworth can't get here in time to park her raggedy Toyota before I do."
" It's Hensworth, Mr. Kim. And that's the fifth time this week, which means detention." The lady from the office who's name Jin couldn't bother to remember said.
" Detention!? I was going to see Hamilton this weekend! It's the only time their performing in this stupid town!"
" Your parents will just have to record it for you. Saturday, 8 am sharp. Don't be late."
A brain...
" This is extremely unapproved behavior, Mr. Kim. You're one of our best students." The boy lowered his head, clenching his aching fist. The cause of the injury sat beside him, a handmade icepack held against his nose as he stole death glares at the quiet boy.
" Since this is a first, however, suspension isn't needed. A detention will do for this time, but anymore of this nonsense and you'll be well on your way." Mr. Ellis snapped. His gaze soon fell on the other presence in the room.
" Mr. Wang, since this is your second time getting reprimanded today, that'll be your second detention. Yours will be scheduled at a later time; the last thing we need is you two in the same room." He muttered.
An athlete...
" Before we start class, everyone pass your homework to the front."
Homework? Jungkook's eyebrow cocked in question. When did she assign homework? He chanced a glance at the paper his neighbor passed forward. Geometry problems.
He cursed under his breath. Memories of the distinct day it was assigned flooded into his head as he shut his eyes. He'd been too caught up in practices and workouts to remember.
" No homework again, Mr. Jeon?" Mrs. McCain was always quick with catching students' lack of assignments.
His silence indicted confirmation. He took a deep breath, rolling his eyes as several pairs landed on him.
" That's the fifth time this week, Jungkook. You know that's means a detention."
He let out a quiet groan, closing his eyes and tossing his head back in defeat. When he opened them, his gaze focused on the captain of the cheerleading team, Momo.
" Coach won't be happy about this." She said, sitting back in her chair. Her face attempted to show disapproval, settling for amusement.
" Tell me about it. "
A playboy...
Jimin tossed his head back, letting out a chuckle.
" Is something funny, Mr. Park?"
He eyed the room, running a hand through his hair as his gaze settled on the principal.
" Yeah. This. You. It's very amusing. But what's funnier is that you think I give a shit."
" Watch your language, Mr. Park. Now, what could be so interesting you were caught skipping class?"
" Jackson Wang's lips. He's a great kisser, you know. Or do you prefer Mr. Atkinson's lips? Didn't know you fancied science guys." His charismatic yet sneaky smirk appeared once more.
