Katherine McNamara or Kat as everyone called her lived in Honolulu, Hawaii for her whole life and she loves ACTING! Her parents moved to Mississippi to get good money for her college tuition while she stayed in Hawaii with her best friend Alberto. Her mother always says to Kat " Stay positive, Work hard and Make it Happen". Not having parents by her side was hard for Kat but she knew they were doing everything they can to help her get into her dream school, Juilliard. A secret Kat kept from everyone is that she actually really loves to draw/paint and if she was feeling lonely she would always sit by the water and draw or paint her feelings away until she felt better. Always in the back of her head she knew soon she'd be in New York living the life she always wanted. This was just the start.... Kat POV Sitting at the edge of the water I start to paint what was right in front of me. I'm leaving in a few days and wanted a memory of where I grew up, no matter where I go Hawaii will always be my home. Saying goodbye to my hometown and my best friend is going to be the hardest thing I have to do. I know I have to do this it's what I've wanted since I was just a little girl and if I have to sacrifice a few things then so be it I'm going to make something of myself. Besides, Alberto can visit me and I can visit him and I'll always keep in contact with him nothing is going to change that.

As I look down at my painting I see the beautiful view in front of me. The sun is going down the glow reflecting off the pure blue water of the ocean with palm trees blowing in the cool breeze. Leaving this place is going to be hard but if I want to make it big I have to move on and start my life in New York doing what is best for me.
