"What?" I say.

"He loved you with all of his heart so he created this thing to ensure your safety," Blaine replies.  I look down to the floor. "But it didn't go to plan."

"So he did this for me?" I ask. I always believed that my father was trying to avoid us.

"Yes," he said. "He never meant to block you out or to hurt you. He just wanted to protect from people like Giovanni."

"Giovanni," I said, in deep thought. An idea hit me. "I fought Giovanni a couple months ago and, after I beat him, he said that next time he would have something he didn't have before. Could he possibly be talking about that creation?"

"Giovanni is planning to capture something to use to his aide huh," he said, thinking this over. "If that's true, he would have to have a special type of ball. Not even a master ball would work on it unless it wanted to be on your team."

"Giovanni didn't mention anything about a special ball," I said. "But, originally, he said if he lost, he would give me a master ball, which is unusual for someone who wants to take over the world.  So, either, he's stupid or he knows where that special ball is."

Axle ran in in a flurry.  "We need to get off the island!"  He said.

"Why?" I ask.  Just then, I hear the whipping of helicopter wings in the distance.  I know instantly who it is.

"Guys, let's go," Sean runs in saying.  As I head out, I hear Blaine say, "Catch Ryver." A ball I had never seen was thrown to me.  I didn't have time to ask.  I caught it and ran out of the lab.

I sent out Kabutops and got on. We zoomed of into the distance and headed for Pallet Town.
When we got to shore, I stepped on and took a deep breath. "Been a long time," I said. Axle smiles. Sean sighs. "Let's stay here for awhile."

"What?" Sean said. "Are you serious? Team Rocket is on our rears and you want to hang out."

"Take a chill pill, Sean," I say. "Learn that a break once in a while is not all bad."
Sean sighs. We went to the lab that I haven't seen in forever. I've been waiting to do this since the second day I left on my journey. I enter with my famous "HI PROFESSOR OAK!!!"

"Oh dear lord," Professor Oak responded, facepalming. "How are you, Ryver?"

"Decent," Ryver said. "How about you?"

"I was doing well," he said. "Until you showed up."

Axle then said, "Roasted!"

I feel the sweat run down my face.

"Oh hello Axle, and Sean," Professor Oak says.

"Heya Professor Oak," Axle said.

"After all this time, you're still doing this?" Sean asks.

"Yes, and I do this for a reason," Professor Oak says.

"Because you love to find new pokèmon," I say.

"Precisely Ryver," the professor says. "For example, we have just discovered a new form of evolution. Speaking of which, I have something to give to all of you." He gives us all two stones each. There is a big stone which varies for each person. Then, next to it, there is a smaller stone. Everyone got this exact same smaller stone. "The big one is a Mega Stone. When given to a pokèmon, it gives it the ability to evolve further than it is capable of without it. The smaller one is a Key Stone. There has to be a strong bond between the pokèmon and it's trainer. This stone is the link between them."

I look into the stone I got and saw a burning fire that never ends.

"Thanks Professor Oak," I said, heading toward the door.

"Be careful," he said.

We left the lab and went to my house, spending the night. I fell asleep that night pretty well. My dream however hit my senses. I was in the Team Rocket base and saw that Giovanni was planning to get Green, Red, and Blue, the three strongest trainers known in Kanto, the pokèmon league, the gym leaders, Gary, and a kid named Ash. Wasn't he the one I helped to get his pikachu back from some Team Rocket grunts?

I stood over Giovanni as he was talking to himself.

"I am nearly there," he said. "I have Leaf and Blue, and I can take out Red. The problem is that Red was banished to Mt. Silver and getting up there isn't a walk in the park. Saying I can't fly there leaves climbing it as the only option. Then there is Mewtwo, who is banished to Cerulean Cave. That poses the same problem, not to mention I don't know if I can stand face to face with it. I've only heard rumors that any ball with any sort of fail ratio will fail every time. Plus, there's the rumor of a "special ball" that has no fail ratio and unaffected by psychic abilities. They said it was in Cinnabar, but I didn't find it."

I look around the room and see the black haired girl.  She was looking at a picture in her hands.  This form of me walked over to her and looked at it. The picture portrayed a young girl and her red haired brother with their mother in a grassy field. As the black haired girl looked at the picture, her face turned red as she began to cry. I wonder if the young girl in that picture was her.

I sat down next to the girl, feeling a little bit sad about her loss. Her mother died and left her here to wonder what happened to her, then, years later, figuring out the truth about it all. That is familiar to my story, except I knew right away that they were not coming back and I had my sister to take care of.  My grandma didn't come for two years, giving me time to get a job at professor Oaks lab.

Just then, one of Giovanni's pens fell onto the ground.  I thought it to be normal until I realized that the pen hit the ground then started to float in midair.  I was startled by this and so were Giovanni and the girl.  We all got as far as we could from the pen. The pen floated higher and higher till it was about to the height of Giovanni.  A figure appeared as it's hand grasped the pen.  This figure had shown it's face to me before and told me things that I never wanted to hear.  This figure was the pokèmon Mewtwo.

"Hello Giovanni," Mewtwo said.  "How have you been?"

"Well, well, well," Giovanni said.  "You did show up after all."

"Yes," Mewtwo said.  "You are hoping to recruit me for your mission, am I right?"

"Been checking up on me daily I presume?" Giovanni asked.

"No, actually,"  Mewtwo said.  "I've had my own affairs to deal with, which is why I am going to decline your offer."

"Oh really. What kind of affairs do you speak of might I ask?"

"Some kid has the pokeball you seek so I intend to make sure he doesn't get the opportunity to use it."

"Who is this kid?"

"The kid is Ryver Xemos."

I sit there in silence, looking at Mewtwo in awe.  Me??? What do I have that is so important???  Why is he keeping an eye on me???

"Where is he might I ask?" Giovanni asked.

"That's for me to know and you to find out," Mewtwo said with a smirk.  He looked at me and winked at me.  He vanished into midair using teleport.

I woke up in my bedroom in the middle of the night.  I looked at the clock to see it was two in the morning.  I grabbed my clothes, my pokèmon, and my bag. Looking back once more, I head down the stairs to the living room.

Axle and Sean are sleeping on the couch.  I walk over to them and tap each of their shoulders. Sean sat up, yawned and said, "What is it?" Axle still lay there, out cold.

I walked over to the kitchen and began to cook up some eggs.  My abnormal silence had caught Sean's attention.  He shook Axle to wake him up.  Axle got up very slowly.  "Is it morning already?" He asked.

After we had eaten and I explained my 'dream', we headed out to train our pokèmon up.  We fought each other's teams for three straight hours that morning, trying to balance our team so that nothing they throw at us can surprise me.  After that, we ate an energy bar to keep our energy up and headed to Viridian City, the home of the final gym leader.
