Chapter 13
Grace's POV

It was maybe the funniest and best use of my powers ever.

"I am going to kill you."

Jared said half angrily and half shocked.

"Says the boy with pink faerie wings."

I threw back, he frowned deeply.

"Don't worry, Jared!"
Kristin was in on it now
"your a pretty pretty princess!"

"You guys are the worst friends ever."

He was frowning so deeply, I thought his face was going to fold over.

*************************************

Right before the 'black chickens' (as there new nicknames were) reached us we all leaped into the air, me with my dragonfly golden wings.
And Kristin, with her light blue dragonfly wings.

And Jared, with his 'pretty, pretty princess' wings we flew over the trees.

"Hey, Jared!"
I yelled over the wind in my ears.

"What!?"
He yelled back, annoyed.

"Guess what!"

"What!?" He yelled, probably annoyed

"Only real men wear pink!"

*************************************

The sun was setting when we finally touched down.

"Wow," Kristin said
"it's like having another leg,-but on your back-after soccer practice. I am sore."

"I would expect so" I said back "we flew six miles, and haven't stopped at all, you should be tired. It's healthy."

"Your ones to talk" Jared said "I have pink wings, and was the fastest the whole time."

I rolled my eyes at him, so did Kristin.

"Shut up."
I walked over to him and lifted my hands. By now, he had learned to duck and cover. But I wasn't doing anything bad or trickster.......yet.

"There, happy now?"
I said

Jared's pink wings were gone in a sparkling golden powder.

"Much better thank you."
He said

"Just, shut up."

I said.

*************************************

I heard a rumbling and quickly jumped around to hear what it was. I was greeted by Kristin's rumbling stomach.

"Holly, crab cakes, I just remembered, we haven't eaten all day!"

She said. My stomach started growling, and so did Jared's.

"Okay! Guess we know what that means!"

I started to lift my hands when Jared interrupted.

"No, no, no, no, no." He said "Grace, I am not some un-American weird vegetarian. I eat meat. I can't eat carrots and parsnips for energy."

He said making a stupid face.

"But-but I'm a vegetarian."

I said, half offended. (Not really)

His eyes got so wide, I thought they were going to pop out of his head.

"I-I mean I-I didn't mean it in a rude way, I-I just meant-"

"I know what you meant, spazz pants, calm yourself."

I said

He sighed, calming down.

We didn't realize as we were talking before the water touched out toes, Kristin was glowing blue, with water trickling out of the ground around her.
