Deaths Child

Chapter 1

Hello reader, my name is Benjamin.The story I'm about to tell to you holds death and much sadness. If you do not believe in the supernatural such as ghosts and spirits and worlds between life and death then this is not a story for you. With this said I can now begin.

My story starts out like any other.

It was a beautiful summer morning in mid June. The sun was out with few clouds in sight and slight breeze.

I woke up in my bed feeling groggy as ever, but I knew today was going to be a good day. I hopped out of bed and headed for the shower. As I brushed my teeth I looked at myself in the mirror. I was 25 years old, a tall slim guy with long black hair, blue eyes, and the features of a rock star, and a smile that everyone loved. Everyone I've ever met has told me I should smile more. They always ask me if I'm a rock star. I'm not a rock star and I don't have a band, but I do play guitar and sing.

I left my bathroom and went back to my room to put some clothes on. I put on blue skinny jeans, one of my Black Veil Brides T-shirts, a pair if socks, and my favorite pair of vans. I went down stairs and ate a pop tart, then I grabbed my keys and walked out the door.

It felt amazing outside with the cool sea breeze. I lived in sunny Las Angeles, California. Palm trees everywhere and manicured lawns covered in green grass and other assortments of plants.

I headed over to my car. It was a black 1965 Shelby GT Mustang that one of my friends had sold to me so he could make some payments for his house. I got in and and put the key in the ignition and started the car. The sound the car roaring to life was always an amazing sound to hear everyday. I pulled out of my driveway and headed to my girlfriends house which was only 5 blocks away.

I had the day off work today. I worked for a music studio called Stand By Records where I worked on the sound board. I've only had the job for a year and I've worked with so many bands. My boss Adam is awesome, he's so nice to everybody and I love the guy, he was the like the brother I never had. He was nice enough to give me the day off to spend some more time with my girlfriend. I didn't even have to ask him he came to me and told me and told me I could have the day off and he gave me today's pay.

I couldn't wait to start our day. She was so excited when I told her the news yesterday. Her name is Layla, she's kind of short for her age, with a long rainbow of hair, those dark brown puppy dog eyes, she was really pretty, but there was always a certain kind of sadness over her. She always told me she was happy when she was with me. For the past couple of years we had been talking about moving in with each other, but we hadn't gotten around to it yet. And since I had the day off this was the perfect opportunity to surprise her.

When I arrived at her house I could tell she had been waiting on me because as soon as I pulled up she came running out. She looked even more beautiful today. She had on her favorite Sleeping With Sirens shirt, black skinny jeans, black and white checkered vans, her hair was curled, and she had on a little black eyeliner.

"Hey beautiful," I said as she got in the car. "Hey there cutie," she said as she kissed me. "Where are we going," she asked me? "It's a surprise," I told her. "Yay," she said excitedly," I love surprises." "Today, it's just going to be me and you," it kid her as I shut phone off," no calls or texts from friends or work, we have the whole day to our selves." She smiled at me and I put the car in gear and we took off.

"I'm so glad it's summer," said to me,"I'm out of school and you have the coolest boss ever." "Yeah, I know he is," I replied,"I love the guy and I think since it's summer he's going to start giving more days off." "That would be cool," she said. "How's school going," I asked her? "It's going pretty good," she replied," my professor handed me his brush and told me I shouldn't be in his class and if he could give me my art degree now, he would." "That's awesome," I said," I'm happy for you."
