"Ready to go?" Joel asked me. He was waiting at my door step like a polite gentleman. Tonight, he was taking me out on a real date. Even though I was a little nervous, I put on a big smile and finished getting ready. I could hear mom and Willie interrogating him about where he was taking me and when we would be back, and it made me laugh at the thought of him sweating and nervously answering their questions.

"Lets go!" I said, sliding down the rail beside the stairs. I was ready to go out with my denim shorts and tee shirt. He smiled at me, and shook hands with Willie. When we walked out, I heard him tell mom he didn't want me leaving.

"So where to?" I asked, looking out the window of his truck. We weren't exactly on good terms right now.

"I'm taking you to a special place." He said, trying to hard to make things up to me.

After about twenty minutes, we pulled into a little pizza joint called "Tiny's Pizza."

"'Tiny's Pizza'?" I asked, laughing sarcastically.

"I hear the owner's pretty small." He said, laughing and opening my door.

We sat at the end booth and he ordered us a large peperoni pizza and we began to talk.

"So, I don't think I know much about you.." He said, flashing those gorgeous eyes.

"What's to know?" I said, trying to ignore his cute boy charm.

"Well, where are you from?" He said, smiling at me.

"I live in Georgia. You know, the peach state?" I said, rolling my eyes. It's a lot harder to ignore him then I'd hoped. But who can blame my actions? He did hurt me after all.

"That's not too far. Any hobbies?" He asked, trying to figure me out.

"Nope. I like to be lazy." I said, taking a sip of my water.

"With a body like yours, you can't be lazy. It takes time to get toned." He said, pointing out the obvious.

"Well, I run cross country." I said, remembering my first place ribbon from the following season.

"Me too!" He said, smiling.

Now things were getting boring. Alright, Abby. Stop the brick wall. Look at this guy! He's into you. Stop playing hard to get, and make him yours!

"So Joel, tell me about yourself!" I said, smiling at him.

"Well, I run. I love to surf, and I'm a total movie junkie. And also... I have a personal problem.." He said, looking at his napkin. Oh God. I'm dating another physco.

"What's the problem?" I asked, afraid of my answer.

"Well.. It's this cute girl across from me. I don't seem to have her number in my phone.. And it's bothering me." He said, pulling out a pen.

"Wanna write it here?" He said, winking and clicking the pen pointed to his bare arm.

Everything was starting to get better.. Until she walked in.

Sam's POV

"You ready to go out?" Amber asked me, picking up her little coach purse.

"Yeah." I said, grabbing my matching one. My red lipstick and black heels made me look amazing in my denim skirt and black tank top. Tonight, I was going to be the winner.

As we hoped in the bug, I put on "Drop the World" and started to touch up my mascara. Amber tried to argue with me about my song choice, but I was always right. And she knew not to challenge me, or she wouldn't have her spot at second most popular. I smirked at the part in the song about dropping the world on some girl, because that was exactly what was going to happen to Abby when I'm through with her. Who does she think she is anyways? No little white trash Georgia girl is gonna steal my man.

"Hey babe!" Jake said, kissing my cheek. He was my "boyfriend" until I win Joel back. He knew that he was temporary, but didn't mind playing the role. Besides, any guy would be luck to call me his girlfriend.

"Get in. We're going." I said, waiting for him to get in the back seat.

"Where to this time?" Amber asked, checking her completion in the mirror.

"To 'Tiny's Pizza'." I said, pulling strands of my new blonde hair.

"So how did you meet this chick anyways?" Jacob asked, trying to pop my bra strap.

"I met her on the beach the first day Joel dumped me. She was in my way, and I shoved her down. When I walked off, instead of Joel following me, he helped her up. That stupid whore!" I yelled, banging my fist on the dashboard.

"Is that why you dyed your hair?" Amber asked, trying to drive.

"Well, duh. Joel said he loved red heads, but now that he likes that dirty blonde, I figured I would look good a blonde too. He seemed to like my new hair when I kissed him the other night at the beach!" I said, fluffing my hair out a little.

"We're here!!" Amber and Jacob yelled, opening the doors. Why were they in such a rush?

"Good." I said, walking up the the door. With one hand on my waist, and the other on the push door, I smiled at the scene. I had already spotted them, and Abby's face said it all. She was scared of me.
