Ok, you might be a tad confused but I'm just rewriting along with my friend ShiftTheStories from the BEGINNING of the whole book. So if you want to be less confused just starting over from here on out, because i don't want to lose a lot of votes....

so...from the beginning...

"Come on Maya! I don't have all day!" My new 'uncle' drawled ahead of me. I ran and caught up with him.

"Magnus it’s hard to keep up with you! I’m not used to being in Brooklyn! I'm used to being in Spain!" I said.

"Well that’s YOUR problem. Not mine. Now hurry up!" He was leading me to a portal that would take us to his front door. It glowed red and blue, his famous magical colors. Looking at the incredible thing, it was then I realized something.

"And by the way, it’s Rihanni!" I told him flatly.

He waved his hand at me. "Details, now step through this with me." He took my hand and he dragged me through it with a yelp and we landed outside his front door.

“You could have warned me about that!” I told him testily. He just shrugged and I sighed in relief when we walked through the door.

"Alexander I'm HOME!" Magnus called. I had never thought that my new adoptive parents would be so incredibly powerful. Magnus Bane and Alex Lightwood were household names for their help against Valentine in the Second Uprising.

I saw Alex come to us and he smiled at me.

"Your room is right over there." He pointed and I nodded. “You can make yourself at home as this will be it until your at least eighteen and hopefully longer.” He said with a slight smile. I nodded awkwardly and Magnus shooed me away.

“Go on and go unpack your things.” He said dismissivly. I nodded and ran up the stairs to my room. It was simple but still my style. I lugged my stuff on my bed and started unpacking. It was quick work; my shirts going in the closet, jeans and pants in a drawer socks and underwear in another, and my weapons in my new safe. I finished within the hour and walked out of my room.

I looked around and decided that this place would make a nice home, even though I hadn’t gotten a choice to stay where I wanted. Spotting Alex I decided to see if I could wander the city a bit.

"Hey um..." I looked at Alex. I wasn't sure what he wanted me to call him.

"Alex." he supplemented.

"Alex then. Do you mind if I go look around the neighborhood? It isn't too late so..."

He nodded.

"Go ahead Rihanni. Just make sure to be back before it’s too late we have guests for dinner." I nodded, and went to my room real quick. I grabbed a seraph blade and my favorite weapon, a blessed dagger with my family's crest, out of my safe and headed out on the streets.

I was walking around New York City with no one else and I felt better than I had in years. The city was so alive! I figured out how to make my way around pretty quick. There was a method to the madness of this huge city. I was headed to a local park/gardens, a type of place I would frequent often in Madrid, my old home. Coming upon the garden I reveled in the peace of the place. I started walking around the gardens so extremely content, that when a boy, talking on the phone, became an enormous annoyance I wanted to silence him. I sighed, and my pocket buzzed jolting me into reality. I looked down at the offending pocket in confusion and picked a phone out of it.

'Hope you like your new phone Couldn't have our girl without one! Come on home, we r having guests 4 diner!-Magnus'

I chuckled and decided to practice one of my favorite pastimes. Running.
