                           Prologue

"Hey, Papa?"

"Yes, my child?"

"How come you and Mama don't play with me anymore?"

"..."

Awkward silence. I can see that he's trying to think of something to say. Something so that I'll leave him alone, like I'm an inconvienence to him. That's all I am to them.

An Inconvienence.

Then he sighs and looks up from the table, "Well you see, Zoey, Mommy and Daddy are very busy lately! The business has never been as successful as it is now. We've just accepted a new project, and we have to finish it before the deadline you see..."

"You always say that! Can't you just give me a piggyback ride? Like you did before?" I ask him, feeling my eyes starting to get wet. I quickly wipe my eyes, hoping that he won't notice.

I can't cry now, not in front of him.

"Look, you're too old for that," He says calmly. "You're already 10years old, and you should be acting like a big girl now, not like a 5 years old, right?"

I sniff and stomp my foot. "Fine!"

Then I turn and run, pushing the glass doors that signify the entrance and exit of his office.

I run, through the hallways of our house, and I keep running until I reach another door, this time they're made of mahogany wood and beautifully carved with artistic designs of flowers. My room, or otherwise known as my prison, since I am to always stay here so I won't disturb my parents.

I push the door open, and enter, locking it behind me. Then I run to my bed and weep.

Stupid Parents! I hate them and I hate my life!

So hey! This is my first story, or more like first story that I'm letting others see. Anyways, feedbacks are always appreciated! Comments and critics give encouragement, and hate will just inspire me to write better, because it's what I love to do:).
