It was pouring rain in the evening of the Woodcrest neighborhood. A young girl happened to get caught in the developing storm as she was trying to figure out where she was.
She was confused.
She carried with her a back pack and she clenched tightly on to her pink stuffed bunny rabbit. She didn't know why her mother had just unexpectedly told her to get out of the car and then drive away, leaving her amidst in the stormy weather.
She most definitely did not know whom she could go to help for. All she knew was that she was just abandoned, lost in the middle of some strange neighborhood.
"Well, at least the neighborhood looks nice", she thought to herself.
Although she wasn't as confident as she'd liked to be she was still a very adventurous girl. She knew that the cons in this situation was going to take some courage and strength. If she wanted to survive, she had to stay on her wits. There was no room for fear in the outside world.
Her name was Charisma.
She walked up to an extremely large house, perhaps a mansion. It appeared to be a pale yellow although it could've also passed for a more whiter appearance. A big tree was hovering over it along with some other vegetation surrounding it, manicured and neatly decorating the lawn with perfect greenery. Even with rain, the place lit up with such gracefulness and attraction. The lights were on around the house so it appeared to be occupied.
Not only that but it also appeared to be very friendly and welcoming.
Charisma thought it to be a safe house and she felt that to whom ever lived there would probably be nice as well. Besides, the neighborhood appeared to be predominately white, reckoning all of the mansion-like houses lined up uniformly down the streets.
It was extremely peaceful and quiet but that's to be expected on a rainy day anyway.
All of the houses looked nice, but this one said a lot more to her.
She'd rather go for immediate help then to walk around in the rain getting further lost looking for the nearest police station. She was no where near close to a town that she was aware of.
As she took a step up on the single door step she became very nervous and scared.
She took a deep breath and exhaled.
She knocked on the door hoping that someone would answer.
Suddenly, an elderly black man answered the door. He appeared angry with a large scowl covering his expression. He was balding on the top with gray hair surrounding it and he had his reading glasses sitting on his nose.
"Who is it! What the hell do you want?" He said grouchily after he swung opened the door. He didn't expect to see a child standing there. "You a girl scout or something ?" He asked her.
"No, but I am confused and abandoned and I would like to know if you could tell me where the nearest town is," she said kindly in her deep British accent.
The old man then started to become suspicious as if he hadn't heard a thing she said, basing everything off of the fact that she was a random child looking around for trouble at his door step.
"Look if you one of them damn criminal spy kids or whatever then I can't help you, you ain't gettin none of my stuff so you need to go away before I call the damn cops, goodbye."
And with that he slammed the door in her face before she could say anything else. Although she had a chance to try another house, she felt the need to correct his ignorant judgement upon her.
