"Great first day of work." I tell myself.
Obviously, no one would even talked to me or even notice my existence.
I collect the pile of papers and placed it on the right side of my table. Then I fixed my things up getting ready to call this a day. It's only 4:30 pm and there's still 30 minutes until I'm out of this office. I may be a newbie here but I finished all the tasks that needs to do for today.
"Hey." A deep voice startled me from behind. I turned to my back and it was Mr. Payne the head of the Insurance Department. Glad someone wants to start a chit chat here.
"Mr. Payne I believe." He nodded while he hands me a yellow folder. There's a black ink written on capital form where it says 'FOR APPROVAL'
"What's this for?" I opened the folder and saw a lot of bio datas from different states and even countries.
"Mr. Price told me to give you that I don't even know what to do with it. You better ask Krishna over there." He pointed out Ms. Miller beside the door where she's sitting and doing some paperworks.
"But don't you know why did he hand it to you to give it to me? And why would he hand it to you, he can hand it to his secretaries. He told me has a lot of secretaries."
"Look, man. I just hand it to you no big deal. Besides, we're all busy here even his secretaries." He went back to his office table and sat down. People here are so furious.
Before I went back to my office chair a loud bang astound everyone in the room. Krishna hurriedly run with her heels from where that sound came from. I looked at Mr. Payne from his office table and I believe he mouthed 'not again'
"What's going on again here?" Mr. Price came to rescue and looked at everyone in the office.
"It's nothing, Mr. Price. Just a pile of books and papers fell down from the shelf. Nothing biggie." Krishna explained to Mr. Price acting like she's the reason of the fuss.
"Get back to work Ms. Miller." Krishna nodded to Mr. Price as he went outside and back from his room.
A tall curly head guy appeared right beside to Krishna. He's trying to whisper something to her but she doesn't listen instead she's trying to clean the books and papers that fell off. I couldn't see the guy's face because his back is turning at me. Moments later, Krishna replied to the guy. I didn't had the chance to hear what she spoke but her face was furious. I watched her exited from her room with her heels clicking and the tall curly head guy disappeared through the other side of the door.
Someone cleared a throat beside me and I looked at his direction. "You got a problem, Mr. Payne?" I ask him.
"I'm just checking. The same thing you did with both of them." I crossed my arms and lean myself to the wall.
"What do you mean?" He pointed out the door where Krishna exited. And another one on the other side where the tall curly head guy went.
"That happens almost everytime at the office. So better deal with it."
I huff. "I deal with the same shits everyday."
I looked at the clock and it's already 4:55 pm. I better get going. I bet pizzas are a nice one to eat for dinner right now. "I better go. See you tomorrow Mr. Payne."
I grabbed my things and hastily walk through the different tables from different co-workers as Mr. Payne said "Call me Liam instead." and he gave me a smirk. I just nodded and went outside.
-----
I open the door of my apartment and prepared myself for a person or should I say a ghost girl saying "hey" to me, just I won't again be that shock just like what happened this morning, inside my bedroom.
