We stayed in beautiful and fancy hotels in all parts of the world and tried food with names I never could pronounce, and seen parts of the world people would kill to see and would never see in their lifetime. life was amazing, I was the closest thing to a princess that i was ever going to be until eventually the traveling had to stop when my mom's lawyers got involved because unfortunately being a mafia boss doesn't matter when you have a custody agreement and when you have kept your daughter out of New York for a month and haven't been keeping up with visitation it tends to piss the courts off so as soon as we landed back home the court battle began again, lawyers in and out of the house all hours of the day and night and hearing my mom yell though the phone to my dad all the time and after almost two years of court battles and phone calls that turned into fights and lawyers and my birthdays that my mom didn't come to, it all finally stopped, it all just stopped.

By this time, I was 12 about to turn 13 and I learned I had to live with my mom for two months. Leaving my dad was hell, I cried while packing, I didn't want to leave my dad and my life, but I had no choice well I did, running away was always an option, refusing to go was an option as well but if I did anything of those my dad would go to jail.

Before I could finish what I was saying the FBI agent that hated me looked up and asked how did your father go through two custody battles and not get caught for any of his crimes? I looked at him and sighed I feel like you know the answer to that question, he smirked with his flexed jaw line I might but enlighten me just for confession purposes he says as he puts both of his hands on his face, I roll my eyes and sigh as I say my dad had the judges in his pocket to look the other way on many things, he also had a lot of people framed for his crimes so even though everyone knew who he was so he kept his hands mostly clean so nothing could be truly tied to him.

There happy? I look at him as he smiles and says yes thank you now back to your story. I roll my eyes as I say I remember not wanting him to go to jail so I put my stuff in the back of my Uncle Charlie's mustang and hopped in his car slamming the door behind me. He always took me to my mom's, he never really talked to me he was always on the phone dealing with business but this time it was different he was talking but not on the phone, he was talking to me, he knew that staying with my mom was the last thing I wanted to do.

We stopped at a red light, and he looked at me and said in his deep New York accent so living with your mom for two months? That must be hell for you huh? I looked at him for a minute and said yes I hate this, I don't want to go but dad says I have too, I sighed and looked out the window as he tapped my shoulder, I turned back to look at him as he said trust me kitten your mom loves you and needs this time with you right now, I know you don't understand right now but you will soon trust me. He looked back to the road and began to drive again,

I looked out the window and wonder what he meant by "you don't understand right now but you will soon" it almost sounder like a threat or a promise you could never tell with Uncle Charlie. We finally got to my mom's house after a one-hour drive, I sighed and opened the door and hopped out, grabbing my bag out of the truck, I saw my mom and my brother Danny who is 19 now waiting on the porch for me, I waved bye to Uncle Charlie and walked to the porch and hugged and smiled at my brother and then hugged my mom and walked into the house.

I stopped in my tracks as I looked around the house it was so different, something had changed, my mom always kept the house cleaned like it was new, but it wasn't cleaned at all, it didn't smell like cookies, and it was a little darker than it should be.

I looked at my brother and he looked back at me with sadness in his eyes and I knew then that something was horribly wrong. I walked up to my room and put my stuff on my bed, trying to figure out what is going on, as I am unpacking, my brother walks in and smiles as he sits on my bed and asks so sis how was the ride? was Uncle Charlie on the phone the whole time? I looked at him as I continued to unpack and say he actually talked to me this time, it was weird, this whole thing has been weird if I am being honest, my brother half smiles, a smile of someone who is broken and doesn't know what to say, I look at him and ask Danny what is going on? why am I here? Why am I staying for two months? dad didn't say anything, all Uncle Charlie said is that I would understand soon, and I don't know how to take hat and then I get here, the house looks like a tornado went through it and you look broken so what is going on?
