The world looks so much better thorough my tinted shades
I see things in my own light
and nobody else knows quite what it's like
I see things with a different slant
The greens are much more vibrant
The sky is an intricate painting
of aqua and a hazy pink glow
The lone goose in the field doesn't look quite as desolate
As there is a certain warmth surrounding his being
I feel protected, like nobody can invade this world
It's all my own, nobody else sees it the way I do
Through my tinted shades
Sometimes on rainy days
I take them off and see the world for what it is
No tint, no slant, just what it is
Take an objective look at my situation, my surroundings
I realize how much they distort the world
And that things aren't always what they may appear
Those days aren't always pleasant
For sometimes things are deceiving
Through tinted shades
Other times, the day is much brighter than what I saw through them
Those are the days when the sun warms my skin
The wind blows gently through the branches on the trees
And rustles the leaves scattered about the ground
The birds whisper their delicate melody
Those are the days I feel free
Feel like I don't need shades to see beauty
Feel like maybe we're all connected
Even though we all see things different
Through our tinted shades
