Molly was a tall girl, long light brown hair and she always wore Converse. She attended school at River High. It was her last year at River High. She was not popular, or a geek, or an athletic person. She was just normal. Her best friend was Saige, an athletic person, but wasn’t very good. Saige was average height. Her hair was dark and down to her shoulders. They were both pale. She had other friends but she only talked to them if they were in her class.

“You know Valentine's Day is coming!” said Saige sounding all excited.

“ Yes I know. It’s this friday. So...” Molly responded.

Molly did not really like Valentines Day, so she just treated it like another day. For her it was just another day where everyone pretended to be nice, and where the number of roses or card you received determined your popularity. She never received a rose, just a valentine card from Saige.

She would always daydream how someday her crush, Steve, would go up to her and give her a rose. Steve was a little bit taller than Molly, had hazel eyes, brown hair, skinny and athletic. With the rose he would whisper “ I love you,” but she knew that would never happen. Steve was popular, but he knew Molly existed.

“ I am going to be decorating this years Valentine’s dance!” Saige exclaimed, while getting her books out of her locker.

“Oh, I just remembered that on next week Thursday I’m going to New Jersey. For a wedding,” replied Molly in a sad voice.

“You can’t cancel? You can stay at my house!” explained Saige to Molly while it looked like she had a light bulb on her head.

“ No my parents already bought the plane tickets.” While Molly was telling Saige about the plane tickets, Steve came up to Molly.

“Um .... Molly can I ask you something?” Steve questioned Molly in a really shy way.

“Sure, what is it.” Molly replied while trying to act cool.

While Molly was talking to Steve, Saige just stood there with her mouth open. She almost looked like Scream.

“I was wondering if ...umm.. if you had a pencil I can borrow?” He looked like his brain was telling him “ Why did you say that?”

“Oh, sure.” Molly's mouth went from a smile to a frown. She was expecting Steve to ask her something else.

That day Molly was wearing a blue and white baseball T, with some black skinny jeans and some gray Converse.

Molly was in Spanish class, her favorite class. Why was this her favorite class? It was because Steve sat next to her. Their assignment that day was to practice conversations in Spanish. Her partner was Steve.

“ Què vas a hacer este viernes (What are you going to do this Friday)?” Steve questioned Molly. He had a kind of accent that someone who does not normally speak Spanish would have.

“ Nomas voy a volar un avión a la luna (I’m just going to fly a plane to the moon).” Molly replied in a silly voice.

“No, what are you really going to do Friday.” Steve almost sounded eager to know.

“Um.....I’m just going to a wedding in New Jersey,” Molly replied really confused.

“Oh, that sounds fun.” Steve looked really disappointed.

“Everyone go back to your seats!” Molly’s teacher directed the students.

Molly was very curious. All she asked herself was “Why did he want to know what I was doing this friday?” It really bugged her.

That night Molly could not go to sleep. She counted sheep, she counted to one hundred and she even counted stars. That night she asked herself “What if Steve likes me?”

Even though Molly did not like Valentine's Day at school, she still made a Valentine card for Saige. On the front it read “ Happy Valentines Day” in big red and pink letters. Molly gave it to Saige before she left early in the morning.

At school Steve had bought a red rose for Molly. He waited for her until the bell rang. She never came but he kept the rose for Monday.

On the plane Molly was listening to music, her favorite band, All Time Low, when the plane started to move from side to side. She heard the pilot on the radio saying “Hello this is the pilot speaking. Please put on your seat belts on, because we are experiencing a bit of turbulence. Thank you.” Molly was not really worried because there was a small chance for the plane to fall.

“ Molly wake up! The plane is falling!” Molly’s mom exclaimed, While trying to wake up Molly. She woke up and felt weightless. She could not believe that the plane was falling. The only thing she could think of was to scream out everything that was in her mind.

“Mom, Dad I have always loved you! My crush has always been Steve! Saige was the best friend that I could have ever asked for! I skipped class 3 times!”  While they were falling down they held hands and closed their eyes. This all happened in seconds.

BOOM!! The plane exploded when it hit the ground. Molly was on the wing of the plane, her face was pale. Next to her was her mom and dad, all still holding hands.

It wasn’t until now that Saige and Steve found out that Molly had died. Saige ran to the bathroom to cry. Steve really didn’t care what people thought of him, so he just cried in the classroom. For the rest of the day, both of them did not smile at all.

That afternoon, instead of going to the Valentine's dance, they both went to Molly's funeral. When it came time for people to say there last words, Steve threw a Valentine card that said “Be Mine” and the rose he had bought her. He whispered “ You will always be in my heart.”
