Chapter One : Stranger Danger

Katniss POV

In about two weeks, summer is over. And I have to go back to school. Yupp. Hunger High. I've missed my friends alot. In school we're the most popular ones. We're often called The Careers or The Victors. I guess I'm excited to go back, but this time, I have more responsibilities. Why? My little sister, Prim, is coming to Hunger High. Her first year. If Lily was here, in two weeks, it would also be her first day at Hunger High. . .

"Katniss wake up!" screams my boyfriend Gale. When we started dating, he was the sweetest person you could ever meet. But now, he is changing. He got rougher and we get in a lot of fights.

I open one eye but the sunlight coming from my windows make my other eye stay closed shut. "Come on Catnip" Well he is in a good mood today. I get up and walk straight to the bathroom without saying goodmorning or hi to Gale. "You have 30 minutes before we're heading to school. Im going downstairs to talk to Prim." "Ok. Ill be down as soon as possible!" I can hear him leave so I get in the shower. When I'm done, I put on a yellow shirt, skinny jeans, and a pair of yellow heels.

Prim comes up in a beautiful blue dress with a thin braided brown belt around her skinny waist. I focus on her scar that she has. From her left eye to her left ear. Mom says she was born that way. Prim's identical twin, Lily, didn't have a scar. So that was how my mom knew the difference between them. Unfortunally, Lily was taken when she was two. We tried searching for her but we didn't find anything. Police made the final statement, stating that she might have died already.

"You look beautiful Prim! Lets go eat breakfast." She smiles in response, and we head downstairs where we find Gale waiting for us with breakfast made. We sit down and eat. I sit next to Gale and Prim sits across from me. I can feel Gale's strong hand touching my thigh area under the table. He knows I don't like that but its not like I can stop him. I'm too afraid.

I remove his hand and try smiling to him. But he just gives me death glares. If looks could kill, I would be dead by now.

"Lets go" says Gale getting up from his chair. I put all the dirty dishes in the sink and head out the door. "Lets walk today" I agree with Prim and start walking. My bestfriend Peeta comes from behind and gives me a hug. I scream a little in surprise and see that Gale, who is walking ahead from me with Prim, is staring at us. I turn around to Peeta and he smiles.

"Katniss, come one." I can hear Gale shout but I still stare into Peeta's beautiful blue eyes. "We better get going" says Peeta breaking the silence. We start walking and I can see Peeta cathing up to Prim, who is way ahead of me, and Gale slowing down to walk with me I guess. I think Gale slowed down too much because now he is behind he. From behind, I can see Peeta and Prim turn the corner, heading to Hunger High. I smile thinking of my friends and memories start flowing back.

But then I feel something, no, someone grab me by my wrist. And then someone cover my eyes. And I hear his deep, rough voice.

"Stay away from him my love"
