(Shale up top! Isn't she pretty!)
Shale"Drop me off first," Ms. Calvo tells Cole form the front, causing me to inwardly groan.
She looks at me in the rear view mirror with a smirk plastered on her face. She gives me a quick wink and then her features return back to normal as she looks over at her son.
"Sure," Cole shrugs, making a pull over in front of a massive skyscraper. "Here you go," he says smiling over at his mother.
"Thank you, Cole. Are you going to in town for a while?" she inquires.
I see a flash of Cole's blue eyes in the rear view mirrors, before he replies.
"Yeah, I think I'll stay a while. We should do this again," he says with a gentle smile at his mother.
"Of course! Just let me know when you're free and I'll make sure Hale clears up my schedule for that night," she says, opening her side of the car.
"It's Shale," I mumble under my breath as Ms. Calvo's care door slams shut.
"Do you want to sit up front?" Cole asks, looking back at me.
"Yeah...sure," I shrug, sliding out of the backseat and into the passenger side of the car.
He takes off back into the flow of New York traffic and asks me where I live. I give him my address, trusting him fully and let him drive me to my house.
The car ride is silent, but not award. I look out the window as the city lights pass by. I've lived here for two years, but I still never got used to the view.
Before I know it, we are parked in the garage of my modest apartment building. I unbuckle my seat belt and turn to face Cole to thank him, but find him unbuckling his seatbelt as well.
"What are you doing?"
"I'm walking you to your door," he says with a smirk before hopping out of the car.
I watch him walk over to my side and open my car door, offering me a hand. With a sigh I take his hand, ignoring how my heart flips at the gesture. I stare into his blue eyes, getting lost in them as the heat radiates off his body. I feel myself starting to lean closer. I have the strongest urge to kiss him, but I try to fight it.
"Don't look at me like that," he sighs, causing me to snap out of my trance.
"L-like what?"
"Like you want to kiss me," he answers, looking down at me.
His words make my heart hurt. He doesn't want to kiss me. I try to clear my thoughts of the feeling, but it's still there, he doesn't like me.
"I'm trying to be a gentleman here, for once, and I don't want to kiss you unless you are ready and are willing," he adds.
I look back up at him, heat blooming on my cheeks. So he does want to kiss me? Those were the sweetest words anyone had ever spoken to me. I swallow the lump lodge in my throat, about to say something so unlike me.
"Kiss me," I breathe so quietly that I wasn't even sure I said it out loud.
Cole's eyes darken before he smashes his lips to mine, pressing my back to the car as his hands found their way into my hair. I wrap my arms around his neck, pulling him even closer as I'm pushed further into the car, allowing no space between the two of us.
He slowly pulls back and smiles down at me with his swollen lips. My breathe catches as I look at his beautiful face. You can't blame me for wanting him. I mean, just look at him!
