We shine like stars in the sky
Forever trying to outshine one another
Like pearls on the bed of the sea
We glow to make our presence evident
To catch the attention of a wondrous mind
To reach the surface and our greatness showcased
Your gleaming light might be different
But mine is unique
Forever competing in our turbulent world
Each one of us striving for the world to see
The unbelievable might we possess
Yet we forget to love and appreciate one another
They might want us for the light we are
But not for the reality and the beings inside
What would happen if our lights burn out?
Or a greater light appears to steal their attention
We will wither from the inside out
If we survive only on their love and the hate we have for each other
Only when we learn to appreciate one another
Will we truly shine the brightest
In a competition to outshine each other
Will only make our lights burn out faster
But when we shine together we shine brightest
NO ONE STAR CAN LIGHT UP THE NIGHT SKY
