The cool salty mist felt refreshing on my skin, it helped relax and calm my mind. My pulse was racing, my muscles ached. Now the blood of 200 men stained my hands red, dripping down my sword. I looked up at as the sun set over the horizon. So beautiful; it was as if the world was trying to hide the monstrosity that had just happened. I walked over to port side of the ship looking at the sunset, taking in one deep breath of relief. One deep breath I took believing that it was the end of everything. One deep breath that was interrupted by a pain unlike any other. The pain rushed down my spine like a chill, my muscle began to burn as if my thigh had been put on fire.

"You caused all of this" a raspy voice came from behind me, a voice I had heard before. "These people were innocent, but then you came and murdered them all."

The pain was unbearable. It had now migrated to my entire right leg. It took more strength than I had ever expected. I focused on sounding tough, trying to intimidate the man.

"That isn't true!" I finally forced out my voice, but my strength was fading. My sword felt heavy. I did a weak attempt to lift it up above my head and strike down my opponent, but it was no use. My sword just fell out of my hands, down to the ship's floor. With the pain increasing, I fell to my knees. My attempt of sounding intimidating changed to a helpless plea.

He took two steps toward me, hovering over my body. I grabbed his leg trying to help myself up. My left leg was in position for me to get up, but every movement I tried to do with my right just caused excruciating pain. Even the movement of my toes caused my body to burn up in pain.

"You're pathetic...." he spoke as he put his hand below my chin to raise my head. "Worthless....." Forming a fist from beneath my chin, he struck the side of my bottom jaw. I fell to the ground half unconscious, but he wasn't done yet. He soccer kicked my ribs, causing me to jump from the pain. Now I was rolling on the ground with my arms wrapped around my ribs. More pain had come with this kick; I felt the pain of broken ribs. I tried using what remained of my strength to crawl away, but it brought the worst out of the man.

"And yet you're so amusing to see. Seeing you struggle to fight your own kind is amusing. The way you care for humans, when they are nothing to you, makes me wonder what you like about them so much." He walked closer to me as I was crawling away, every word was a step he took. He was watching my every movement, stalking his meal to come. "The great part is that now you will face the same fate that they all will." He let out a loud cackle. He was hovering over me again. I kept trying to crawl, but he put his hand on my hair; pulling to a stop. His words were still echoing in my head, you will face the same fate that they all will. Without a moment of hesitation, his foot had struck the side of my head. My body was lifted up and landed 10 feet away from him. With a strong bang, my head hit the floor of the ship and I was done for.

My name is Jason- this is the story about how I lost everything to save the Earth.
