Chapter 2

I live in one of the old shacks resembling a hovel but nicer and more roomy. My older brother Trevor was cooking us breakfast.
"Sunny side up, just like we like it." He told me. "You want bacon to?" He asked

"Duh! I love me my bacon!" I replied.

"Haha ok." He laughed.

It was Thursday, I had to go to school. Everyone there either doesn't notice me, or hates me except this group of girls and my two best friends. My best friends are Carson and Jacob. The girls who always hang out with me are Bren, Tris, and Lexi. To be honest I've always liked Lexi since she moved here a year after me. She's has always been my neighbor when she moved here from Nebraska. She is tall, has medium long dirty blond hair, green eyes, skinny, yet well built. I always stare at her in class but she doesn't mind the extra attention. We've always been close but, we'll never be as close as I want to. She is super kind and nice. She's way out of my league though, I'm about average hight, short brown hair, dark brown eyes, a little well built yet, scrawny. I've never had much friends in life so I'm glad I've met these people.

"I'm goin' to school Trevor, I'll see you later!" I yell as I walk out of the house.

"Be home before dark! Be home before curfew!" He says as I get to the door.

"Fine, whatever. Have a good day!" I say is I walk out.

====Thirty Minutes Later====

"Anthony Costanza! Are you here!" Says Ms. Alvarez.

"Here!" I say.

"Good, now we can start class."

Ms. Alvarez was going on and on about being smart around Zombies but, all I could think of was Lexi. her beautiful, bright smile. She was amazing I front of the window, she looks as bright as a shining angel with the damp light around her. I've been waiting for the right time to ask her to the 'Spring Prom' but I've been to nervous to speak to her about that kind of stuff.

"MR. COSTANZA!" Yells Ms. Alvarez.

"Huh, what!" I say as I snap back to reality.

"Would you please tell the class the answer to question number four?!" Asks Ms. Alvarez.

"Uh... Two-Hundred Forty Two?" I guess.

"Wrong. The answer is D, a compound mixture of Hydrogen 2 and Oxygen 1 aka water."

Everyone starts laughing

"Pay attention next time got that?" Asks Ms. Alvarez

"Ok..." I say.

Next thing I know, the breach alarm goes off.
