It was normal for everyone to have an assigned soulmate in their life. Some people didn't have soulmates and some did. Some people saw having a soulmate as a curse, while some didn't.
Jimin, however, dubbed it as a curse.
Firstly, you'd know you had soulmate if the first letter of your soulmate appeared somewhere on your skin, alongside a symbol that represented them. The amount of love that the person felt for the other was indicated by the opacity of the symbol next to the letter. The symbol randomly appears on any birthday, so it could appear any time, whether you're young or old.
Jimin's mark had appeared on his wrist when he turned 21. It had happened when he was alone in his room after he partied with the rest of his group.
When he was changing, he noticed the letter j embellished on him. His eyes widened, his soulmate brand had appeared!
The person's name started with J.
A certain doe-eyed and bunny toothed boy came into mind at first, but he had brushed it off. He'd know many people with names starting with j. It might've been someone who he hadn't met yet too. The chances of it being the person Jimin thought of immediately were slim.
And actually, Jimin would prefer it not being the one he thought of.
After staring at his wrist for awhile, he had finally noticed the little wing that was next to the letter. Then, he realized, that wing couldn't possibly represent anyone but...him. He shook his head, maybe it was all a coincidence.
As he continued to decipher the wing, the brand on his wrist had slowly disappeared, leaving the j all by itself. Shocked, Jimin didn't know what to think.
Until it hit him.
Jimin knew what that meant.
The opacity of the symbol indicates how much your soulmate loves you.
Jimin's mark had disappeared completely.
At that moment, Jimin had realized, maybe it really was the person he thought of.
Maybe it was Jungkook.
