Chapter 5

Marinette's POV
At school

I was sitting in my seat listening to the boring lecture about the beginning of Paris. Can't wait until lunch.

After class at the cafe'

I was sitting at a lunch table with Nino and Alya when I saw something. Adrien kissing Lila. I gasped. "Mari?" Alya asked. I pointed over to Adrien. She glared daggers at him. I started to cry. Nino hugged me. "C'mon. You need to leave." Nino said. I nodded and he took me to the park. I was so upset. Was saying 'I love you' mean nothing to him.

Alya's POV

I'm gonna murder Adrien. I walked over to Adrien and pulled him away from Lila. "What the heck, Adrien?" I yelled and slapped him. "Marinette saw you kissing Lila and now Nino is with her comforting her." I said. "Alya, you have to believe me. Lila kissed me. Please. I would never do anything like that to Mari." Adrien said. "I do believe you. But I saw you kissing her back. That's what hurt me. I just can't right now." I said and walked to the park with Mari and Nino.

At the park
Marinette's POV

I can't believe he did that to me. "Mari, I'm sorry Adrien did that to you." Alya said. I cried harder into Nino's chest while he comforted me. "Alya, don't say the A name." Nino said. "I wanna go home." I sobbed. "But, he's there." Alya said. "The ocean, Alya. The ocean." Nino said. I nodded. I stood up and fell. My legs get numb when I cry. It's a mermaid thing. "I can't stand. It's a mermaid thing when I cry." I sobbed. "Ok. I gotcha ya, Mari." Nino said and put me on his back. "Thanks Nino." I said and smiled a little. "No problem. I'm here for you." He said. He took me to the dock. Alya went to talk to Agreste.

At the dock

Nino put me on the dock and we sat there with our feet dangling down. "I'm sorry about what happened." Nino said. I chuckled. "It's not your fault." He got up and picked me up bridal style. "Nino, what are you doing?" I asked. "I'm throwing you in." He said then tossed me in. I popped my head up to the surface and said, "Nino? What are you doing?" "You need time on your own. If you need me, I'll be at my house." He said. I nodded. "Bye Nino." I said. "See ya Mari." He said and walked off. I ducked under and swam to a cave.

In the cave

I swam to a rock and sat down. "Mari?" I heard someone say. I turned around and saw Plagg and Tikki with worried expressions. "Mari!" Plagg said and swam towards me. He hugged me and I hugged back. I think he notice the tear stains on my cheeks. "Mari, what happened?" He asked. I shook my head and looked down. "Marinette, tell me." He said. I started to sob. "He hurt me Plagg. Adrien, he... I saw him kissing another girl. My arch nemesis." I sobbed out. He pulled me into a hug and I cried into his chest. "Mari, you don't deserve him. You can do way better." Tikki said. I forgot she was here. "...he was perfect..." I cried harder. Plagg hugged harder. "Tikki, just stop please." Plagg said. Tikki nodded. "I think I need to go visit my friend, Nino." I said and wiped my tears. "Ok." Plagg said and released the hugged. "Be careful." He said. I nodded and waved. I swam out and up to the surface. I saw Alya with Adrien sitting on the dock. "Mari, please, I need to talk to you. Please." Adrien said. Alya mouthed, 'Please Mari.' I nodded. I motioned Adrien into the water. He dove in and swam towards me. We ducked under and swam into the cave I was in earlier.

In the cave

I went to a rock and sat down. "Mari, I would never hurt you. I was walking to the lunch table and Lila grabbed my hand. She pushed me against the wall and kissed me. I tried pulling back but she had a tight grip. Please believe me. I would never hurt you on purpose. Please. I would never hurt you. You mean everything to me. I love you so much. More than anything. Please Marinette. Please forgive me." He said and started to sob. Adrien would never do that to me. I swam over to him and hugged him. He hugged back and cried on my shoulder. "I love you so very much, Adrien." I said. He hugged tighter and said, "I love you more than you'll ever know." I pulled away and kissed him. "C'mon, Alya and Nino will want to know that we made up." He said. I nodded. We swam to shore and dried off.
