Felicity, at least that's what they call me. The name is a bit old fashioned but when contrasted with my retro personality it seems to be the only word to describe me.  I am often teased upon for my love of older things.

"Felicity! 1984 wants their camera back!" said my older brother Jason following the rude comment with a light chuckle.

"Haha, very funny," I replied.

I was packing my durable little suitcase for a weekend in the city and was too excited to be brought down by a little crude humor.

London! I was off to see all of London! Everything from Big Ben to the simplicity of riding a red double decker bus through the city. I couldn't have been more thrilled at the time! I was going with a few of my best mates: Andrew, Natalie, and Ritchie. Ritchie and I would be sharing a room while Natalie and Andrew shared a room. There were so many shops we were gonna see such as the only Beatles store in all of London. To be filled with everything Beatles related: memorabilia, lava lamps, even BATHROBES! Ritchie and I were the only two that were really all that excited about it though, but we were looking forward to making Drew and Nat stay with us while we bought out the entire store.

"Felly! Supper!" yelled my mother through our tiny flat.

"Coming!" I replied while practically flying down the stairs from my room.

Our supper was anything and everything that one would expect from my family, the usual, chicken patties that were prepared with our microwave, a minute per patty. By now I've been around long enough to know that after 'Grace' has been said my mother leaves the kitchen, giving me the perfect opportunity to sneak out the side door to take a walk to my favorite shop in the village. So I did.

Abbey Apple's Records was my ultimate hang out. I loved looking through all the vinyl and seeing all the classic rock bands that I'd known by heart now. Sometimes I'd bump into Ritchie and we'd hang out at his place but he wasn't there so I decided to talk to my best friend Brandon (who worked as an employee.) He always knew what I needed and how to cheer me up so after his shift ended we hopped in his car and he drove me over to his place. When we got there though I realised something was different, his parent's van wasn't parked precisely 2.043 meters away from the garage door. In fact, it wasn't anywhere to be seen.

After seeing my confused face Brandy said, "must be at a meeting out of town."

Sure enough when we got past Dmitri, who was watching the newest episode of 'How it's made' in the common area, there was a note sitting on the counter that read "Out to London! Be back Monday, XOXO -Mum and Dad."

"Aren't you going to London soon?" Asked Brandon.

"Yeah" I said shrugging "We leave next Friday, it's a shame you aren't coming with us!"

"You know I need to work! None the less, don't you think I'm upset that you're leaving?" He argued.

"Yes I know! Baby I promise, I'll text you every night! It'll be just like we're together!" I said hoping he wouldn't get angry at me.

"If you say so," he pouted out.

My mother had called me 4 times to check where I was and when I told her Brandy's she almost lost it. She much rather preferred me to be with Andrew, but at least she respected that I cared about Brandon. Brandon was the only thing that went through my head. Every morning, every night, and he managed to find his way into my dreams.

"Well I gotta go!" I said then kissed his cheek.

"But you only just got here! We didn't have any fun yet!" Said he.

"Before I leave for London, I promise!" I said as I was opening the front door and biding Dmitri a farewell.

The walk home was rather lonesome but it gave me some time to reflect. Mostly on Brandon. I've loved him since we were toddlers, but recently he'd been ignoring me and had been talking to another bird, much prettier than myself. This had been going on for two months and I wasn't sure if Brandy really did have any feelings for me. Maybe it was all an act. Those weren't my thoughts during the walk though. All I could think about was the way he touched my hand when we were getting in the car and the way he looked into my eyes moments prior to us making out in the parking lot before leaving to his house. He made me so happy when I was with him but when he wasn't with me it was as if we were in completely different worlds, his including a pretty little gal with a lot of heave too. I still promised him though, and a promise is a promise so when I finally got home I called him (4 times mind you) and when he answered he had already gotten together with the boys so I quickly told him that we could hang out on Wednesday before being hung up in the well known 30 second maximum that I have with him on the phone.

I went up to my room, gathered my things, and proceeded to the bathroom so I could take a shower. I reflected some more. When I put on my favorite pair of cheer shorts and a local charity tee I lied down in bed ready to sleep when I heard Brandy's individual text tone saying how sorry he was that we couldn't talk tonight. It'd been so often that by now I expected that text, so I replied with a sweet goodnight followed by heart emojis and happy faces!
