Finally, it was over. While a short battle of only three days, it was an intense one. With Quintessa gone, the Decepticons vanished, and Cybertron no longer on its way to implode Earth, everyone was able to kick back and relax to their best abilities. There was still work to be done, helping fix the environments that had been nearly destroyed, and making sure the injured were taken care of; major or not. You, especially as a medic had your cervos full. It took a while tending to the seriously injured bots, but eventually things slowed down a bit. It also helped that Cade and other humans with an understanding of the cybertronian body where there to lend a hand. The injuries dealt to your body weren't as bad as some unfortunate others, so it was no problem taking care of them on your own.
"Alright, aaaaand. . .done.", you affirmed, finishing the last damaged part of Crosshairs.
"Still can't believe you hand your ass handed to you by a four foot, metal butler," you smirked watching the green autobot flex his now fixed finger.
"Oh shut it love, he got lucky.", Crosshairs groaned embarrassingly.
You chuckled, patting his thigh plate," Speaking of lucky, send my brother in will you?"
"Pfft, lucky, more like crazy if you ask me!"
You rolled your optics and turned back to your medic table, listening to Crosshairs make his leave from the giant tent. The medical tent you were stationed in was huge, once holding both non-organic and organic life. However, it was just you now and which ever patient you requested to be seen. The swishing of curtains alerted you of another bot now entering, though their footfalls sounded slightly heavier compared to your brothers. You ignored it, thinking that your mind was playing tricks on you from hardly resting to attend to others.
"Alright bro, let's see how lucky you were this time.", you spoke as you got your equipment ready.
"I'm afraid Bee is still out helping Yager."
"O-optimus!", you stuttered with wide optics, almost knocking everything over from turning around so sharply.
The autobot leader nodded to you, saying a small, quiet greeting. But that wasn't what got to you, what got to you was how he avoided eye contact. You could tell it was forced, as if he were to ashamed to look at you. That simple thought splintered at your spark, an ever present frown appearing on your face.
"L-let's. . .lets get started sha'll we?", you asked, stepping forward, but it was more to yourself than him.
You stepped forward, looking over the large mech's beaten body. It wasn't the first time you had seen him dented and leaking, hell, you had seen him dead at one point, but there was still that major hurt of seeing him in such a condition. Slowly you raised a cervo, reaching forward to observe a rather bad bullet wound on his chassis, but slightly hesitated, stopping just a few inches of his plates. Primus, how long had it been since you were this close to him?
Taking in a breath and shakily releasing it, you managed to push aside the lonely thoughts of your mind and moved on. Optimus had noticed your uneasy approach, he knew every little quirk of yours, and receiving such a reaction from you only furthered his quilt. You hadn't noticed it though, too focused on starting to repair the autobot leader. For the next hour, you two were left in silence, the only sounds being the twist and clanks of metal and screws, as well as the occasional painful grunt followed by a quick, hushed 'sorry'.
