Haruhi's POV

"I...I don't understand. What do you mean they're gone?"

Everyone just stared at me silently.

"Tell me what's going on!"

They were all too afraid to say anything.

"Tamaki! What happened!"

He turned back to Kyoya, they whispered something again.

"Haruhi..." Tamaki turned back to me. "They left".

"What do you mean they left?!"

Kyoya stepped up and said, "Hikaru and Kaoru have moved to a different school". His voice didn't seem very sad, but I knew he was upset because he couldn't even look at me.

Honey started sniffling and cried out, "They weren't happy here!"

"Haruhi," Kyoya didn't want to say it. "Hikaru said...you hurt him".

"No." Tamaki has never looked more guilty. "It's my fault, not Haruhi's".

"Not gonna argue there", Kyoya said. It seems he's dealt with his emotions and moved on.

"I could use some sympathy you know! Hug me mommy! Daddy needs some love!"

My God, it takes two minutes for Tamaki to forget what happened and go back to trying to inflate his ego. Atleast Honey-Senpai and Mori-Senpai are still worried.

"Takashi...are Hika-chan and Kao-chan gonna come back? Please tell me Hikaru and Kaoru will come back!"

"Mitskuni..." Mori pulled Honey in for a hug. "We will get them back".

"Ya!" Tamaki sounded as excited and determined as ever. "We'll get them back! Right Haruhi?"

Unbeknownst to them, I had left during their conversation. I had to find Hikaru.

I should've thought of this sooner. I'm so stupid.

Hikaru told me that he might move schools, a long time ago. He said his family wanted to move outside of Japan, and they were planning on going to a school in England.

Ugh what's wrong with me! I should've figured this out already!

I ran to the Hitachiin Residence where they had a private jet.

Hikaru told me his parents would only move if Hikaru and Kaoru didn't want to go to Ouran anymore, I guess they must really hate me if it's enough to drive them away from the academy.

I finally got to Hikaru's mansion and ran to the main gates but they were locked. I would've climbed it to get in, but I was too late.

I looked up and saw their jet, it was still close enough to the ground that I could see the words 'Hitachiin' written in giant letters, but there was nothing I could do to bring them back.

They were really gone.
