Chapter One

Rena's POV

I woke up it was early. I checked my iPod it was 4:am. I wasn't in my own bed I had a little panic attack for a second. Then I realized I was at my aunties. Cincinnati ,Ohio, in Cincinnati there was the rich people and then the rest of the people. The only time the two people would come together was school, even then they would still ignore each other. My auntie lives on the rich side and my mom lives on the poor side. We aren't poor we are an average family with an average income.

My mom is a nurse and worked the late shift sometimes and even though I'm fourteen my aunt insisted I come over. Since it was so early in the morning my auntie was not awake. So I decided to leave her a note and walk home. The note said " Auntie don't be worried about me I'm walking home, I have pepper spray in my bag"

I quietly left the house. I have walked home before but never this early. I checked my phone once again it was 5:30 Am. I texted my besties Madi and Renae. I didn't think they would be awake already but surprisingly they were. We texted for a while and then decided to meet at Madi's house. Madi's dad lived in the rich area and Madi's mom lived just down the street from my house. She was like me, she had an average house with an average income. Renae's dad lived down the street too. While I was walking I put on my headphones and "Hell Above

" by Pierce The Veil came blaring through my headphones.

Chapter Two

I was walking the music was drowning my head. I loved the way music made me feel. It was like I could block out anything that bothered me and my mind would go blank. I was so deep into the music that I wasn't watching where I was going and I fell. I could feel my phone fly out of my hands as my body hit the cold hard gravel. All that went through my brain at that moment was "shit I hope the screen of my phone didn't break". My ankle hurt. I felt a soft hand grab mine and try and help me up. I accepted it and got up. As I was getting up I looked up to see the kind person who was helping me. It was a boy who looked about my age dressed in black and he had eye liner on I think. There was one thing that stood out the most about him though, his beautiful blue eyes they popped out like a rainbow after a rainy day. I felt myself instantly blush. "Are you alright"? I heard him ask I was so caught up soaking in his beautiful ness that I didn't even hear him. He repeated himself and I mumbled "uhh ya". I noticed him look at my phone he picked it up and handed it to me. "You listen to Pierce The Veil"? he asked. "Yes I love them" I said. "Me too, well I better get going" he said. " Bye" I said. He made my stomach do flip and I couldn't get his beautiful face out of my mind. I kept walking and then I finally made it

to Madi's
house.
