As I walked into school, I immediately regretted it. I looked like the nerdy kid in the high school movies, with everyone whispering next to their lockers. They pointed, laughed, made sympathy remarks, but I didn't feel the sympathy.
Now I was "that" kid. You know, the one who always gets out if assignments, or gets to go home early. No one wanted to hang out with "that" kid. My depression was like a contagious disease, ready to infect everyone who I touch.
I was disrupted by the closing of a locker.
"Hey, you okay?" John asked.
"Um yah. I.... You know..... Class." I then shoved everything in my locker and ran off.
I am literally the most awkward person ever.
I went through the day, regretting lunch. I was surprised when Greg sat next to me. I honestly thought he would've ignored me, embarrassed by my dramatic exit.
"So, how you holding up?" He asked, cautious of what might "anger the beast".
"Fine, I guess. You don't have to sit here. You can go with your friends."
He crinkled his forehead in confusion. "What happened to hoes before bros?"
"I'm pretty sure it's the other way around."
"C'mon. I'm just trying to cheer you up. How about we hang out after school."
This made the beast (aka me) smile.
"Fine. My place?" I asked.
"Yeah, you can ride with me"
The rest of school was a breeze, with my heart fluttering all day. I had no idea when I would get used to this boyfriend thing, but it sure was worth it.
Last block, chorus, went by soooo slow. I felt like we had sung a whole symphony within the course of an hour. When the bell finally rang, I shoved my chorus folder in its rightful place and ran to the parking lot. I found Greg's car and sat on the trunk. I noticed him coming up and decided to scare him. I slid under neath his car, hiding my backpack in a nearby bush. He mimicked me, sitting on his trunk, obviously waiting for me. I waited a minute before grabbing his feet.
"AHHHH!" Greg screamed in the highest pitch possible. I slid from under the car, surprising him. His face was priceless. I swore I could see tears falling. I couldn't help it, so I did.
I laughed so hard. Eventually, he joined in too. We were like maniacs, laughing hysterically in the school parking lot. I finally slowed down (mainly due to respitory issues) and got in the car. We drove to my house, and went inside. I grabbed us a snack and went upstairs grabbing my book bag and opening my math binder.
"Homework? Really?!" Greg asked, leaning against my door frame. I simply shrugged and took out my calculator.
"You have your incredibly sexy boyfriend over and you just do homework?" He stepped closer to me, and threw my math items on the ground.
"Hey!"
Greg grabbed me by the shoulder and brought his lips to mine.
Definitely better than math.

I was feeling sassy.
