I dropped the knife, and put my hands up.

"Oh please. This isn't a hold up, I though you were going to attack me.'

"I-I was going to kill you?

"Well that's what I assumed when ou grabbed your knife so quickly." He put his gun in his jeans, and put out a hand. "You know my name, so what's yours?"

  "My name? It's Olivia."

"Well it's nice to meet you, Olivia. Are you with anyone? Do you belong to a group?"

I wasn't sure how to respond. I didn't want to lie, but I didn't want him to know I was alone either. He had a trust worthy feel to him, and I'm not a good liar. "I'm alone. How about you?"

"I've been by myself since both my mom and dad were converted. They were one of the first people to ever change. Now it seems like everyone is gone. You have no idea how good it is to see another person; well I should say someone that is alive." He gave a small laugh, but I couldn't find the situation funny.

"How did you find me?" Everyday when I go out searching I've never seen anyone, so it's strange that he found me first.

"Well, I was following the stream when I noticed a tent set up a little ways away. I thought I would either find someone who I could join up with, or have a great place to loot. Then when I saw you laying in the grass by the dead one, I thought I should have at least checked and seen if you had gotten bit before taking your stuff."

"Thanks for your kindness." I replied with a small laugh. He gave a slight smile, which lightened up the mood.

'You're welcome. Anyways, I checked you for any wounds and found none. I assumed you had just passed out or gotten knocked out, so I decided to wait with you until you woke up."

"Thank you. Is there anyway I can repay you?"

"Well I really don't want to head out tonight, so would you mind if I stay here with you? At least for the night?"

Yeah I mind. He could kill me at any moment, but he can protect me better than I could protect myself. "S-sure. I mean I only have the tent and fire, so we aren't that protected."

"Hey, it'll be fine. Thank you."

I crawled over to the tent and got inside, opening the sleeping so we could both lay ontop of it.

I yelled out, "I'm going to bed. Just come in when you're ready."

"I guess I should get some sleep too. I need to find somewhere safe tomorrow."

I felt him crawl in, and lay down next to me. I rolled onto my side, facin away from him.

"What do you miss?" He asked.

"M-miss? Well I miss my friends and family."

"Well of course. We all do, but what kind of little things do you miss? I miss being able to play Minecraft and other video games."

Taken by surprise, I quickly responded, "I miss them too. I played them a little to much actually. Especially anime. I cannot tell you how much I would pay you to be able to lay on my bed and watch an episode of Attack on Titan." We both had a quick laugh.

"This whole situation is just plain old horrible. I mean what is there left to live for?"

This thought has crossed my mine many times in the past 2 months, but I just pushed it away.

"I live to be able to watch anime again, and to see the rain." At that, I closed my eyes and prayed to have a peaceful night.
