His Smile

His strong smile simply stuns every someone encountered or known,

Quick whit and a sharp sense of humor dresses his life in the finest throw,

His hair may be silver, but his heart is made of molten gold,

He's aged over the years, yet he is still the same age as he was when I met him, just as old,

Always one for spaghetti, even all over his tie, he’s so dear,

A feisty blonde, the ruling spouse, has him mystified,

“Look at the lovely lady across the table here,

Is she as smiling and styling as me,” eyes full of pride,

His jokes are brought upon in multiple fractions,

They all are connected by the same smile’s presence and actions,

Nimbly stumbling across a room with a gifted cane he sings of Frank Sinatra,

His voice traveling across the room as if he were in a grand opera,

Teasing remarks inquire barks of laughter,

and a playful tap from the woman with gleaming green eyes after,

Every time he smiles it travels the miles to my heart,

For he was smiling at me right from the start,

His joking has become a name game,

Faux Katherine, Hannah, or Fake Anna I am still the same,

Mattyas is my dear Mathias, my loving grandfather who supports everything I do,

Just as long as I smile all the way through.
