"From this day forth we are throwing away our past lives! Our names our guilt our problems will be left behind with the rest of the world!"

The announcer blared through his microphone and the speakers echoed in the bus. The crowd cheered loudly and Uni had a small smile creep across his face.

"We will be whoever we want to be! In a few hours we'll be able to forge our own destinies!"

Another cheer echoed through the crowd of people. Uni even cheered at the thought of finally getting rid of all the problems in his life. A gentle bump on his arm made him stop and turn towards the person sitting next to him. Golden brown hair swept across the others mechanic face. A camera obscuring the place where his eyes should be, his lens reflecting Uni's questioning gaze back at him.

"Uni, I know you're excited but I wouldn't get your hopes up." His calm voice was almost unheard over the crowds cheers. He sighed "If you really believe we can go to this 'paradise' then you must be out of your mind." His blunt statement sinking Uni's mood a bit.

"Cory, do you really have to be so pessimistic? I mean, why wouldn't this place be real we've all heard about it from somewhere?"

Cory looked unimpressed with Uni's reasoning. It definitely wasn't even close to solid evidence that the place even existed but it was something. Cory just rolled his eyes and continued shuffling through his playlist on his phone.

"Why did you even come here anyways if you don't believe that the place even exists?" A feminine voice asked from behind them.

Both Cory and Uni turned their heads towards the back seat. The girl had reddish brown hair with a navy blue ribbon hanging off the back of her head. She wore a blue sweater with cute white flower imprints on it. "I mean, its not like you were forced to come here." She blatantly stated.

Cory glared at the girl, a bit of annoyance spread across his face as he started to speak. "You know, I don't remember starting this conversation with you." Cory said coldly.

Uni winced at the reply and immediately apologized to the girl to which Cory seemed not to appreciate.

"Sorry about my friend here, he's probably just annoyed that I dragged him along on this trip. Anyways my names Uni and this is my friend Cory." Cory just ignored the rest of the conversation and turned back over to face the front, grumbling under his breath.

"It's no problem I guess I was being a bit nosey. Oh and my name's Ashlie by the way." Uni smiled, "Oh then nice to meet you Ashlie." The girl smiled and nodded. It was nice meeting new people and Ashlie seemed like a nice person.

"....I came here to figure out if this place actually exists." Cory's voice muttered softly.

Both Uni and Ashlie were caught completely off guard by the statement and turned back to look at Cory. Cory squinted, his lens half lidded as he lazily stared out the bus's window.

"Don't you find it a bit strange? No one knows where this place is... And anyone who has been there was never heard of again..." He paused and turned towards Uni.

"This place could very well be a place where people are murdered and their bodies disposed of. Or a place where a bunch of lunatics could be living in."  His tone became deathly serious and his gaze was piercing at this point.

A cold shiver ran down Uni's spine and a flood of questions ran through his mind. 'But what if Cory was right? What if when we go there its not really what it seems? What if the people who went there really were killed...? What if...'

"HAH! Well someone here watches a little too much TV to have that kind of imagination!" A voice hollered through the crowd.

Uni was snapped out of his thought and turned to the boy sitting to the side of Cory and himself.

"Relax man, your friend is probably just trying to get you to pee yourself thinking about it!" The other boy's laugh echoed through the bus.

Cory was now glaring daggers at him for interrupting his thought. "Hey, relax man it was just a joke. My name's Jon by the way." He outstretched his hand towards Cory to which Cory just ignored the gesture.

"Well, I guess someone here doesn't appreciate jokes." Jon sighed dropping his arm.

Uni smiled at Jon, sure he wasn't exactly polite at the moment but he seemed nice. "So what are you here for?" Uni asked curious.

Jon looked up and gave a wide grin towards Uni. "I'm here to start a new life of course! Things didn't really work out before you know..." He awkwardly scratched the back of his neck.

It must have been a sensitive topic so Uni didn't try to push on things further.

"You're a fool if you think that going to a place where people magically disappear will solve all of your problems." Cory again interrupted outstretching his arm to block off Uni from further conversation with Jon as he spoke.

"Only an idiot walks into a situation blindly." Said Cory

Jon snickered "Then what are you doing here? Waiting until we all suddenly end up dead at the side of the road?" Cory was about to get up but Uni held him down by the arm.

"C'mon guys can't we all just get along." Uni pleaded.

A rough stop caused the boys to lunge forward in their seats. 'Wait...a stop?' Uni looked out the window and sure enough the bus stopped. A soft glow of light shone through the bus windows from the building. The bus doors opened and the bus driver called over the speaker for everyone to get off. Uni gulped and turned towards Cory who stopped glaring at Jon and started shoving his phone back into his backpack.

"C'mon Uni, we'll be left behind if we don't hurry." Uni nodded and also packed up his things. Both boys started to head off the bus. The doors slowly closing shut as everyone left the vehicle.
