I walked down a beach with a duel disk attached to my arm. I had taken down five duelists already and was moving onto my sixth. I approached my opponent who stood confidently near the ocean.
"So you're finally here so I can prove myself over my brothers." My opponent called out.
"I hope you're prepared Josh because here I come!" I exclaimed and initiated the duel.
"I'll go first this time! I'll set one monster face down and two other cards face down as well. That'll end my turn. Oh Josh, it's not too late to back out of this." I called out.
"In your dreams I'd back out but jump back into reality where I'm winning this duel Alex!" He came back at me.
"A simple first move, trust me. Mine won't be, I draw a card!" Josh looked at it and smiled. "I'll save that card for later."
"I activate my field spell, A Legendary Ocean. Next I'll summon Needle Sunfish in attack position. And to end my main phase one I'll set a card face-down." Josh smiled already doing more in his turn that I did, but that wouldn't help him.
"Now Needle Sunfish, attack Alex's face-down monster!" Needle struck Defender's shield and was knocked backward to Josh's side of the field.
"I'll end my turn there Alex." Josh finished.
"My turn, I draw a card!" I exclaimed. I had drawn the Skilled Dark Magician.
"I summon Breaker The Magical Warrior in attack position and from being Normal Summoned, he gains a spell counter on him. Next I'll activate my trap card Pitch-Black Power Stone. I'll also switch Defender into attack position. To end my main phase one, I'll activate Dark Magic Veil by paying 1000 life points to special summon Skilled Dark Magician from my hand!" I smiled having now three monsters for Josh to contend to.
"Now Skilled Dark Magician, destroy his Needle Sunfish!" I exclaimed. The magic blast shattered the Sunfish and lowered my skilled magician's attack by 500 points. But something was off.
Josh hadn't lost any life points.
"Why haven't your life points gone down.?" I asked him.
"Well while you were busy attacking my sunfish, I activated my face down card Tornado Wall. As long as Umi is face up on the field, I don't take any damage from attacking monsters. And A Legendary Ocean is still called Umi whilst on the field." Josh explained.
"Fine then moving into my main phase two, I activate Pitch-Black Power Stone's effect allowing me to transfer one spell counter from it to my Skilled Dark Magician. Now I will remove one spell counter from Breaker to destroy your tornado wall! I explained.
"I'll end my turn here and now and let you go on with your turn Josh." I wondered why this battle was so easy. He was hardly putting up a fight and I was winning so easily. Maybe he was deceiving me, quite possibly...
