Chapter 26

Roman's POV

It wasn't long before the car pulled in front of Trevor and Roman's apartment. Roman opened the door and stepped out on the pavement.

Lana came out of the car after him and closed the door. Then she walked over to the passenger side window. The window rolled down as she approached.

"Thanks for you help Leo. I'm sorry for your casualty." Lana said to the male vampire.

Roman had seen Leo inside the warehouse but he was otherwise occupied at that moment to really examine him. Now Roman seized him up.

Leo had wavy brown hair and hazel eyes. He had a good build, tall and lean and handsome features. Wolf growled on the inside at their assessment of Leo. He couldn't stop being threatened by Leo's presence.

Lana was casual around him it was obvious that they knew each other for a long time. Roman and Wolf's possessiveness kicked in again and they looped an arm around Lana's waist from behind.

"I was more than happy to assist you. I'm glad you got your beloved back." Leo replied and then he looked over at Roman.

Leo's eyes shined with something for a second. Maybe it was amusement for Roman's possessiveness or jealousy at their bond... But Roman let it slide. The guy had helped rescue him and assist Lana.

"Thank you." Roman said to Leo.

Leo nodded his head.

Lana then added, "Leave this matter between us for the time being Leo. I will handle the matters myself soon enough."

Roman didn't understand what Lana was talking about but Leo seemed to do. He nodded and then the window of the car rolled back up and the car started driving away.

Lana turned in Roman's arms and said, "Let's check on Trevor." She took his hand and started walking towards the entrance.

They climbed the stairs and got in front of the door to the apartment.

Unease started uncoil in the pit of Roman's stomach. What if Marcus had taken Trevor too? What if they had come searching here for Roman but had only found Trevor?

Maybe they had done something to him.

Roman reached out and knocked on the door, fidgeting with his fingers.

A moment later someone opened the door and as soon as Roman saw that dirty sand coloured hair of Trevor's he jumped on him.

Trevor barely had time to catch himself or they would both fall to the ground.

"Umph." Trevor said.

"I'm so glad you are okay." Roman told Trevor. Then he took a step back and held him at arms length. Roman looked at him from head to toe to make sure he was really in one piece.

"I would love to say the same thing about you but you look like shit!" Trevor exclaimed. "What happened?!"

Roman walked into the living room and took a seat at the couch. Lana stepped into the house after Roman and squeezed Trevor's hand gently.

"I'm glad you are safe." She said.

Trevor nodded as he closed the apartment's door and moved to sit in an armchair as Lana took a seat next to Roman.

"Yeah I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?" Trevor asked.

"A psychopathic vampire named Marcus kidnapped me in order to get Lana. He tortured me that's why I look like this." Roman explained.
