At this point all I can think is that she is here to kill. She's here to kill Love, but as soon as I take a step forward she has picked up Love and moved towards the still open window. I plead with Awry to rethink her decision and she says something heart-wrenchingly painful. Awry has already fled through the window with my daughter to a somewhere I may never discover and left me in the door of my beloved child's room crying out for my sister's forgiveness. She has run past the compound toward the people and yet her words still linger in the air. Her words breaking my heart with each syllable.
"As you made me suffer the loss of my son, Soul, you shall suffer a loss even greater than mine. You will never know where Love is or she's dead or alive. Your suffering WILL be greater than mine. I have chosen to become rogue, chosen to bind my wolf, chosen to live among the humans, and chosen my path for the first time in my life. I leave here today untraceable to you, humans, and every other species known. I leave here free."
While the words still linger, I realize Alice is standing behind me horrified at the scene before her and unseeing.
