Chapter 14 (Jillian's POV)

It was only 5pm but the sky had darkened drastically. Dark clouds filled up the sky, so dark Nick decided it was time to bring out the candles.

"You never know when random gifts from fans will come in handy." He said smiling at me.

Despite being without electricity we managed to eat a reasonable dinner. We cooked pasta by lighting the gas stove manually. After that we finished with one of my desserts. A rich lemon tart with icing sugar sprinkled on the top. It was so rich we could only manage a quarter each to start with.

Conversation was so easy with Nick. The hours passed quickly and the more we talked, the closer we became. Soon we both felt close enough to talk about the most personal areas of our lives such as families.

"My parent's are actually split up." I explained to Nick. "They never got along, growing up all I remember was them arguing so it wasn't a huge surprise when they told me."

"I'm sorry." He said sympathetically.

"Don't be. It's not your fault. Besides my life is kind of better now. There is less arguing at home and my mum is a lot happier. I just wish it was her I lived with. I love my Dad and all, but he just doesn't understand me, or females to be honest. Sometimes I just need my mum."

He nodded as he listened to me, taking it all in.

"Your family seems happy?" I said implying a question.

"Well yeah." he said. "My parents are happy and of course, because we are all so busy nowadays we hardly see each other. I suppose we learn to appreciate each other more."

"But surely you and your brothers are almost always together?" I asked.

"Well yeah but their not just my brothers. Their my best friends. Of course everyone needs their own time sometimes so we just make sure we get that time. Usually with all the craziness going on we have little time for disagreements as we are always supporting each other. Even if we were in a fight, I think our family comes first so we would put it aside to give a good front for the fans and media. I think the media helps us stand stronger because we always have each others backs." He told me.

"Your lucky." I said.

"You have a brother right?" He asked me, genuinely interested.

"Yeah but just one. He got that job by the way." I informed him.

"Ah that's good." He smiled and paused. We looked into each other's eyes for a long moment. I felt like he could see right into me. To my surprise, he lent forward looking at my lips just as he had last night. I hesitantly moved my head closer to his. I wondered if this was going to be a repeat of what happened yesterday but this time he did not pull away. I felt the intensity building up between us as we edged closer to each other. He looked from my lips to my eyes checking I was okay with it. I moved my eyes to his mouth signaling I was. We looked at each other once more for a moment, our lips less than a centimeter apart, before closing our eyes and letting our lips touch lightly. Then, Nick Jonas kissed me.
