It has been a month since Korra and Mako had broken up. While coming home from a busy day at work, Mako went his usual route home. He was under so much stress from work, relationships, and life itself. He was bringing home half a sandwich that he took from the break room. On his way home, Mako was passing an alley way. He never really payed attention to it but while he was walking by he heard a little noise. At first he didn't know what it was. Then he stopped and looked at the alley way. He was a bit shocked to see a foxpup just sitting there all alone. He didn't want to leave it to die. So Mako instinctively walked up to the little foxpup. He was a little shy and thin. He got down on his knee and the foxpup walked up to him. He was curious at who and what Mako was. Mako pinched a piece of the sandwich and gave it to the foxpup. The foxpup backed up because he didn't know what Mako was doing. Then the little foxpup happily ate the piece of the meat. Mako gave the rest of the meat he had left to the little foxpup. From that day on, Mako would go to that alley way and see the little foxpup run up to him. A few months went by and Mako never told anyone of his little foxpup. He didn't want anyone getting word that he was feeding a wild animal. After four months of raising the little foxpup, one day he didn't show up. Mako looked around for him but he couldn't find him any where. Mako thought of the worst. That someone or something got to him. He was still a foxpup but old enough to be on his own. Mako hoped he was alright even if he never saw his little foxpup ever again. But one day, Mako was walking home from work and went past the spot his little friend used to live. He still wasn't there and Mako only hoped maybe he just moved on rather him be killed. Before Mako made it to his apartment he heard a howl. He immediately turned around and recognized that howl. He knew it was him. He would never forget his friend, the little foxpup. Mako was so happy to hear him. To have raised the little guy from such a tiny foxpup into a foxdog was one of the greatest things Mako had ever done. He knew he was alright and that was all he cared about.
