You come home from a long day at work, tired and stressed. Lately, you've had a lot on your mind between work, family affairs and of course finding out you are pregnant. The news was shocking and you still haven't told your boyfriend, Twobit. You're scared about how he'll react to this unexpected surprise. Luckily, when you arrive at the house, there he is sitting on the couch watching the evening cartoons. "It's now or never," you think to yourself as you plop down on the couch next to him.
"Hi babygirl," Two says and pulls you in for a hug as his eyes stay fixated on the screen. He's watching Mickey Mouse, his favorite cartoon.
"Hi honey," you smile. Suddenly, a wave of terror passes over you. You suddenly realize that you are both just kids yourselves, way too young to raise a kid of your own. The father of your child still watches cartoons every single night and laughs hysterically at the dumbest things. You love Two-Bit dearly but you start worrying about whether he's prepared enough to be a father. Is he mature enough? Will he think this is all a big joke and that you're not actually pregnant? Will you guys be able to afford this baby? Will he want to name the baby Mickey? What if it's twins? Would that make them Mickey and Minnie? No no that would be weird! they'd be brother and sister and that's just wrong.... All of these thoughts are running through your head when suddenly you blurt out "Babe I have to tell you something."
"Yeah babe what's up?" Two-Bit says, his voice cool as ice.
"Well....I um.....umm....I...," you stammer. "I'm pregnant. We're gonna be parents."
As predicted, Two-Bit bursts out laughing. "Haha that's a good one, [Y/N]. I almost believed you!"
"I'm not kidding, Two. I really am pregnant," you say quietly.
"Yeah right, that's crazy that could never happen," two bit says still laughing. On the tv screen, Mickey Mouse trips over a banana peel and your boyfriend laughs even harder. Now you're just annoyed, not even worried anymore. You're over here trying to tell your boyfriend some very important news and he's just laughing like an idiot.
"Fine. Don't believe me," you say rolling your eyes. Quickly, you scramble to your feet, stomping over to the door. This finally gets Two-Bit's attention and he turns to face you. "[Y/N], where are you going? It's really late, you shouldn't be going out by yourself at this hour," he says.
"Oh don't mind me, I'm just going out for a little stroll so I can clear my head and actually plan out what I'm going to do now that I'll be a single mom," you reply sarcastically. "Just keep watching your little show. Don't wait up for me."
Two-Bit jumps over the couch, races towards you and grabs your wrist just as you're about to step out the door. "Babe, wait. You're serious? You're really pregnant?"
"Yes, Two. You really think I would joke about something like this?" You answer, slightly hurt that he still doesn't believe you.
"No baby I just...I don't know..you just caught me off guard...I don't know. But this means I'm going to be a daddy?" He says quickly.
"Well yeah. But if you're not ready, there's no pressure. I can handle it on my own," you tell him. You don't want him to feel obligated to care for this baby if he feels like he can't do it. Now it's his turn to look hurt.
"You really think I'd let you raise our baby by yourself?" He asks looking into you eyes. "You don't think I could handle being a parent?"
"No baby, it's not that. It's not that at all," you say, shutting the door and put your hand on his cheek. "I just don't want you to feel pressured into doing this."
"[Y/N], there is nothing in this world that I would rather do than raise our baby with you by my side. I'm sorry it came across like I didn't care earlier when you first told me it was just really hard to believe and I thought maybe you were joking because I know you and you're quite the jokester but now I see that you're not. I just want to reassure you that I will be here for you and that we are going to do this together. I love you, [Y/N]."
All choked up, the only thing you can manage to say is, "I love you too, Two."
You share a warm embrace and you can't help but giggle, for now you are overwhelmed with happiness. Suddenly, he pulls back. "Now, onto more important things. If the baby is a boy, can we name him Mickey??"
