It felt just like any other day...
Alexander was soon to find out it wasn't. Today would change everything.

The short boy walked along the sidewalks of New York City, anticipation eating away at him. Nobody knew where he was headed except for him of course, so strangers wondered why he was looking so giddy. But I'll be the first one to tell you where. He was headed to John Laurens' house, his best friend in the world. For a while, he didnt think of John as anything but a friend, and that's how it would be. He would marry a beautiful woman and they would be together forever, Laurens by his side all the way. His expectations were soon to change as he broke up with his girlfriend Eliza Schuyler, for personal reasons. Why? Well he had realized that after time went by, him and John grew closer, and for Alexander, it wasn't just as friends. Alexander from a young age dreamed of having a very pretty lady by his side. Never once had he thought about a man.. A very pretty man nonetheless. But so it seems, Alex had relationship preferences for both guys and girls. As an orphan, he didn't need to worry about either of his parents being homophobic, and the more he thought about it, he couldn't seem to remember if either of them were. It did seem like so long ago, but in reality it had only been 9 years since his mother died.
-But back to the present-
Alexander Hamilton's eyes scanned the downtown city streets for an all to familiar green house. After all, this wasn't his first time John invited him over for game night. Though he silently wondered if any of the others would be there. He prayed Eliza wouldn't show. Even though they were still good friends, it sometimes felt awkward to talk with her without tripping over his words. So he figured if she wasn't there it would spare him the embarrassment of looking like a fool, stumbling with his words. He was almost too lost in thought to notice as he came up to a pale green house, the paint lighter than it used to be because of the sun. He smiled, raising his hand to knock but the door opened before his hand hit the wood.
"Alexander!"
A voice cried out cheerfully as a familiar face greeted him at the door. The freckle-faced boy smiled brightly, dressed in his "Black Lives Matter" hoodie that Alex had gotten him for his 19th birthday. The curly headed boy took a step forwards and wrapped his arms around Alexander, resting his chin lightly on the shorter boys shoulder as he squeezed Alex in a hug.
Alex grinned. "Laurens!" Whatever he was about to say was cut off by being pulled into a giant bear hug. Laurens may not be that big of a kid, but man could he squeeze the life out of a guy. Alex always enjoyed Laurens hugs, but they do tend to get a little tight, especially when its been a while. He took in a deep breath as he was let go, almost gasping for air. He laughed softly, grinning. "Laurens! Strong grip you got there." He said, brushing a strand of hair behind his ear that wasn't long enough to go up in his short ponytail.
The boy grinned in response. "You say that every time!" He laughed. John wasn't exaggerating. Alex said that every time he almost got the life squeezed out of him by one of John's hugs. "Come inside!" He beckoned after a brief moment of silence. He grabbed Alex lightly by the wrist, pulling him inside, which he thought nothing of. He closed the door and pulled Alex into the living room, before letting go of the boy's wrist. The living room was crowded with their friends. And turtles. Of course John's turtles sat in their tank on the black wood shelf as always.
Alex blushed lightly, laughing nervously as the boy basically drug him into the main room. He tried not to trip and fall on his face, which for once he succeeded at doing. He took a minute to catch his balance before looking up at his friends all greeting him. Immediately his eyes scanned for Eliza. At first he didn't see her, but he turned to see her walking in the door. He muttered something under his breath, a few curse words probably thrown in there.
