"What do you see in the sky at night?" The woman asked the boy
"Darkness" he said, plain and simple.
"Really what about the moon? It lights up the sky at night."
"No it doesn't." She look at him trying to figure him out.
She turned away back to her notepad.
"Stars" His word made her head jump to look at him.
"What about the stars?" She was curious.
"The stars light up the sky, not the moon" Now she was really curious
"Really, why do you say that?"
"There are a million stars in the sky, but only one moon." The boy was surprised when he felt the tough of the woman making him look up at her.
"I want you to do something for me ok." He slowly nodded.
"Every night before you go to bed I want you to look up at the stars and hope that they shine forever. Can you do that?" He nodded again.
She gave him a motherly smile and grabbed his hands making him stand up.
"You did great today. I hope to see you again tomorrow." He smiled back at the woman.
The woman who had been working with him for years. His therapist.
Sadly, they didn't see each other the next day.
