Once again the school day was cut short due to the long assembly. I couldn't stop looking at Jess, she looked so broken. She's making so worried. "Marcus." said stopping completely in front of me. "I want to go home.".
I nodded. "I'll bring you home."
We were dismissed by the principal to go home.
When we reached the house Jessica ran inside and sat on the couch. "Are you alright?" I ask sitting down next to her.
"I just wish.." she said breaking down into tears "I wish I could've been there for him. I didn't know that he felt this way."
I pulled her closer to me and hugged her. "It'll be okay. I promise, I'm here."
She looked at me, still sobbing. "Thank you Marc.".
I spent hours trying to comfort her, it took almost three hours. She fell asleep on me with her head resting on my chest. It was still early so I doubt that she'd be asleep by night. Her phone sat on the table next to me.
Bzzt.....Bzzt.....Bzzt
It buzzed, I picked it up and looked at the message on the screen.
Text From: Unknown Number
Jessica, I'll get you soon. I can't ....
I looked back down at Jessica who was still sleeping. It's not like I don't trust her, I just want to see who was messaging her and why the number wasn't saved to her phone. I opened her phone to see the whole message.
______________
To: Jessica
From: Unknown Number
Jessica, I'll get you soon. I can't wait to have you all to myself.
______________
If the number isn't saved then I guess the person isn't important to her, I can't help but to wonder who's sending those messages. Jessica moved a bit. Is she even asleep or is she pretending? She looked up at me. That answered my question. She probably knew what I was doing. "I don't know who's sending those messages. I don't even want to know, I I think it might be Dean though." Jess said within a yawn.
I nodded. My eyebrows furrowed in, she moved off of me. I got off the couch and moved into the front yard. "I'm going to call my father. Do not go outside and do not listen." I stated pulling out my phone and dialing the number.
"Dad? I want you to send Damian over, I have a job for him."
"Why, son?" Dad said curiously.
"There's someone that needs to be eliminated. He's being too much of a nuisance."
"Oh.. Alright then. He will be there in thirty minutes."
_Time Skip_
A black lamborghini pulled into the driveway and Damian stepped out. His short black hair barely moved in the wind, I guess he still uses too much gel. "Hey~ Marcus, it's been awhile! How are you?"
"Yea, it's been, what, three years. I see you still use too much gel in your hair."
"You know I'm not good at portions."
"I've been fine. How has 'training' been going?
"Good. So, what job do you have for me?"
I hand him a file. "Take out Dean Myers. I want to done by Saturday, or else. Now, How much do I owe out?"
"You owe me a night out. It's been three years, let's catch up."
"Oh. Are you sure? I can just give you money."
"You don't like me anymore? C'mon Marcus!"
"I do still think of you as my best friend. The request just sounded odd. I'll just go tell my girlfriend."
"Oooohhhh Marcus is all grown up." He teased.
"Shut up." I barked while walking back into the house.
Jessica greeted me upstairs. "Jessica, I'm going out with Damian. Stay here in the house. No one can come over, lock the windows and doors. Tell no one you're alone. It's for your own safety."
"Okay. Just be safe." She said kissing me on the cheek.
Then Damian and I left.
