In the distance I can hear screams, and shouts, but I see that mostly everyone is looking towards the District 1, but I immediately understand why.  The girl tribute has on a knee length dress, it has crystals all over it.  Each one sparkled and reflected light all over it, she had matching earings, and then I realize, its Katrina.  Whatever scared and timid look she had at the reaping is now masked by an adoring face.  She looks everywhere, as if she was the happiest person in the world to be here.  She stares at all the capitol people, and blow kisses at them.  Playing them just right.  I snap back to my chariot, I tear my eyes away from her and relize I am just about halfway.  I put on a winning smile, and lift up my arms.  My “tail” flew open, in a capitol screen, I could see myself.  The tail was twice my size and the textures on it were amazing.  Brenna looked like nothing next to me. I flexed my arms, and blew a kiss at a capitol girl who had red hair and red eyes, she swooned, and I hear many other capitol people screaming as I pass them, not at district one, just me.  I raise my arms higher and my tail grows again.  I smile and wave until the Chariot ride is over.

“That was the most exhilerating thing I have ever done.” I say

“Well get used to it, there  is more to come.”  Johanna says.

“There’s more?” I ask, and before she can repsond I am taken to my styling room again.

Maxwell is waiting there for me and as soon as I walk in, he shakes my hand, and congratulates me.

“You did wonderful!”

“No, you did wonderful” I said.

He chuckles to himself and unclips my tail, and helps me out of my unitard.  I dress again in my dress shirt and pants.  Then Methilda walks in, looking frantic.

“My goodness boy! The capitol is raving about your costume! Well yours and the girl from one!  Oh how I can’t wait to go to the dinner tonight! Oh my! The dinner tonight, we must get you there, don’t want to be late!”

She rushes me off througout the capitol building.  Her short legs make her not run fast, but we were still moving pretty quickly.  Soon we were (the first ones) there.

“I knew we would be on time!”

She said and she went to go take a seat next to Johanna.  Brenna walks in and sits next to me.

“That was  a nice lt little show you put on for them.” She says, avoiding my eyes.

“Thanks” I say “Speaking of shows, whats your act?”

She smirks then says

“Well I am still trying to figure it out myself, but basically I’m just a girl from district 7, and everything here scares me,  I want to go home.  I want pity.”

I nod. Many people have tried that before,  it usually does not work, because most can’t play it out well.  I see that district one has walked in, and Katrina has sat down.

“Well good luck with that.”

I say and walk over to Katrina, I sit down next to her and without looking at me, she says;

“For the last time Jay! I don’t want to be in the career group!”

Then she looks at me and blushes

“Sorry, I thought you were Jay- the both from my district.”

“Its ok.” I say  “I just came over here to tell you that your opening ceremony dress looked great.”

“Thanks” She says.  “It’s nice to hear it from someone other than the capitol.”  She smiles

“  My name is Jax.”  I Say

“Katrina.”  She says, smiling warmley.

“So, I noticed, that you looked like you loved everything here.  IS that an act.”

“Yes, it is, I hate everythign here, its distughsting.  Is my act really that transperant?”

I laugh  “Not to the sponsers.”

An avox places food on a nearby table.  I get up to get some food, and She follows.  There are mounds of what looks to be like pudding, I get some.  Also there are piles of what looks to be like Chicken, many bowls of what looks to be like a soup.  And many, many desserts.  I get a little bit of everything and sit down,  I talk and eat with Katrina more, and we talk about things like the food.  Apparently, back where she lived, her parents had a Candy shop, and she misses the candy she would snag from a jar every day.  She technically paid for it.  I told her about my fathers  meat shop.  And when she asked me about my mother, I sort of froze and got a sad look in my eyes.  She looked down immeadiatly, embarresed and said

“I’m so sorry.”

I smiled, and said it was okay. All the time while talking with Katrina I noticed Brenna shooting glares at me.  I guess it was not polite to just leave her side and go to Katrinas, but I wanted to talk to her, and she should have joined me.  It was nearly time to go to bed, and I had ate a fairly decent amount of food.

“So what’s this I hear about people wanting you in their career group?” I ask.

“ well, I’m in district one, and well you know, district one usually tributes are usually careers.  But I volunteered to save my-“ She cuts off, then says.  “ I Just don’t want to be a career.”

“well, what if” I begin slowly.  “we both ditch the careers, and have our own alliance?” I hold out my hand.

She looks at me cautionly, hesitating, it reminds me of the first day Erela and I met, my heart aches for a fraction a second and she shakes my hand.

“Deal, we’ll come up with a plan later.” She says

I smile and leave for my room.  I take a quick shower, and I am dried off by the matt, after slipping into bed, I am  very sleepy, the food tonight had taken a drowsy effect on me.  I was happy to have Katrina in my alliance, I felt we could have even been friends.  But I also feel a pang of sadness, because, after all there are 24 tributes in the Hunger Games, and only one comes out alive.
