A/N: People… I’m sorry if I didn’t get to update soon, I was very busy with school, but now it’s summer break, expect a lot of updates going on. Also, I want to dedicate this chapter to miss hannahclemens37 for commenting what she thinks about this story. Thank you so much.
Midorima’s P.O.V.
I stopped what I was doing altogether. I looked at our coach quizzically. Is he underestimating us? We’re fine without having a manager, so why the hell would we need one now?
It seems like I’m not the only one stunned by the sudden news. My team mates were also shocked; they all gave coach a confused look. It seems like for once we’re all thinking alike apart from coach.
“Uncle Masaaki, I said that I’ll think about it, I never told you yes, plus, I don’t want to manage a team that contains a bunch of arrogant idiots. Plus I don’t think they’ll need me anyway. Seeing the looks on their faces, I can sense that they’re confused with your sudden decision because they don’t need me here.” January said.
-_- So she’s a mind reader now huh? Good thing that she knows that we don’t need her here.
“January, you can teach them a lot of stuff. Like you said they’re idiots, they don’t know that you can actually teach them a lot of things that can improve their skills. So please, even for a short time, teach them things, improve their skills. That’s what you are good at right? That’s why different teams from WNBA ask for your help despite your age.” Coach pursued.
I was surprised, I seriously can’t believe it. Different teams from WNBA ask for her advice. She must be THAT good.
“There’s no sense on teaching people who don’t believe in you” She remarked as she opened the door looking at her uncle.
While I was sitting on one of the benches, I thought for a while, intertwining my fingers, while I place my head on top of it, using them as a support. Somehow, she was right about that. But if she’s THAT good that even different teams from WNBA seek her advice, maybe it’s worth giving it a try. We won’t lose anything anyway.
“Then prove you are capable of teaching us. Prove that you are actually worth it.” I said making her turn her head around, she was about to leave when I said that.
“And what do I get in return? I see no profit on my part, and I don’t do things that won’t benefit me. Unless of course, you offer something that will interest me.” January said, looking at me from the corner of her eye.
I thought of it for a bit then decided to take the chance.
“If you manage to prove yourself to us, then we’ll comply on you being the manager of this team.” I told her with full dignity.
She sighed in an irritated way, and arched an eyebrow at me.
“Even if I do prove myself to you, what makes you think I want to be your manager? As you can see idiot, I’ve been trying to reject my own uncle to that offer, I rejected even the most famous teams all over the world, what makes you special, for me to agree to be your manager?” She asked and turned towards the door, but what I said stopped her once again from leaving.
“We can help you get whatever you want that is possible to obtain.”
She turned to me, an amused yet hopeful look on her face.
“Even getting me out of an arranged marriage?” She asked.
We were all surprised by her question, and I signaled for her to wait for a moment.
(P.S. since no one knows what Midorima-kun’s parents’ jobs are, let’s pretend that Midorima-kun’s mother is a lawyer, and his father is a doctor. XD)
~Calling Oka-san~
“What is it Shintarou? It’s quite rare for you to call.” Mom asked.
“Can you void an arrange marriage?” I asked her, knowing my mom is one of the best lawyers in the country, I have faith in her. But if this case can cause her stress, then January better be worth it.
“Of course, it’s one of the easiest cases I’ve ever had, and one of the cases that I always seem to win.”
“Then you can help me void a friend’s arranged marriage?” I asked.
“Sure, why not.” She said.
I hung up after that, I can hear some of my team mates commenting on how I am taking this seriously, but I didn’t mind them and looked at January instead.
“So?” She asked anxiously.
-_-* the girl is quiet impatient isn’t she?
“I can help you with that.” I informed her.
“You got yourself a deal then mister, I’ll give you all the data you need tomorrow morning.” She said and set off.
Just make sure that will bring our next opponent down to the dumps January. We’re doing fine, but if you can help us be better on our next game, then say good bye to that arrange marriage of yours.
