Evolution is not a force but a process. Not a cause but a law. -John Morley
As the thousands of years passed, humans continued evolving. We eventually separated into two different species. The Homo praepositus and Homo improbus,
Praepositus meaning superior and improbus meaning inferior. This evolution is the result of a decline in society thousands of years ago. The rich becoming way too superior compared to the poor. They started to mate based on their social rank and this resulted in modern humans to evolved into two different species.
Physically-wise Homo Praepositus are taller than Homo Improbus, with the average height of Homo praepositus around 2 meters tall and homo improbus around 1.4 meters tall. The intelligence also differs with the average IQ of 160 for praepositus and 80 for improbus. Researchers are not sure how they exactly look like as this all speculations. Its often said that evolution goes backward for improbus. The population number for Praepositus are around 3 billion while Improbus are around 7 billion.
From a young age, we praepositus were thought that Improbus are lower humans being and are a disgrace to the human race. They roam around 70% of the earth while we build borders around the 30% to protect ourself from them. They were classified as vicious and feral, they mostly lived in abandoned cities and sewers left from the modern human.
As praepositus number grows, the demands of land and resources started affecting the government. We have limited resources left inside the walls and the government is starting to recruit soldiers to go outside of the wall to learn more about the improbus. They are also trying to get a live sample of an improbus to experiment with.
I from a very young age is very fascinated by the Improbus. No one except for the higher up knows what improbus looks like. We, commoners, are only given a vague description of it. I really want to interact one, that has been one of my biggest dreams. That is one of the reasons why I joined the recruit.

"Leona, you ready?" Mike screamed looking flushed from all the adrenaline. This is the first ever mission to roam outside of the wall and of course, we are all very excited. All the new plains that we get to see. The higher up keeps any records of the outside world a secret, so this is a completely new experience for us, recruits. Mike grabs my hand and pulled me out to meet with the rest of our team. We have 5 members as of right now; Jake, Kiera, Louis, Mike and me. Jake is our commando, the one who has the most experience. Kiera, our navigator, she memorizes terrains easily with her photographic memory and maps new routes. Louis is our medics, in case anything bad happens. Mike and I are the new recruits our job is to collect new species and tag improbus for research. Tagging the improbus is to insert a GPS into them so, that we would be able to monitor their movement and learn more about them.
"Couldn't you be later, Leona" I immediately look down at my toes hearing Jake's stern voice dripping with sarcasm. I smile weakly to Jake and scurry my way to the rest of the team. We wait patiently for the direction we need to explore.
"District 14, Northwest, 8,000 km. Collect as many samples of flora and fauna as possible and tag every improbus encountered. See all you cadets in a month" The bell rings meaning our mission is about to start. I got on my hovering motorbike and get ready for them to open the gates. The motorbikes use the earth magnetic field to propel itself above the ground, it has the maximum speed of 200km/h and the battery life of up to 6 months.
Adrenaline starts to run through my veins and my heart beat starts to quicken. I look over to Mike and gives him a smile of reassurance. The gate opens and we all follow Kiera, our map reader and we made an arrow formation just like in training. After 10 minutes of riding, we all put on autopilot and started our discussing our plan over on our wireless helmets.
"In 20 minutes we are going to reach a thick forest, everyone please get ready." Kiera's voice rings inside my helmet. I attach my tag gun to my waist and sets up my tracker. The tracker is used to locate any heat source in the area. It is extremely useful to map out incubus location so we won't get ambush.
"Great 20 minutes of waiting!" I think to myself, "I wonder how Mike is doing.." I message Mike asking how he's feeling. He quickly answered and ask me to accept his private voice call.
"Leo, I can't believe we are really outside! It's so beautiful out here, no wonder the higher-ups are trying so hard to retake this land!" Retake this land? What? Where are the improbus going to live in if we took this land? I look around and see huge trees and a group of the prehistoric animal once called the elephant. It is huge with light wrinkly skin and small ear. I once read that they once have humongous ears and a greyish darker skin but due to the cold temperature they adapted to a paler and thicker skin and develops a smaller ear to minimise heat loss. I was amazed at how beautiful it is outside of the wall, the sense of freedom and fear of the unknown is addicting. I would never agree with us praepositus to take over this land. I don't want us human to ruin this captivating land again.
"Yeah, it is really beautiful Mike. Glad I could see it with you for the first time." I replied smiling remembering the promise we made when we first joined the recruit training; we promised to see the outside world for the first time together. I and Mike joined the recruit about a year ago, we knew each other when were punished to clean the same toilets for going to training late. We started enjoying each others company so much that we would purposely be late to the training in order to spend more time together. He is my best friend someone I could trust my life with.
