A few minutes later, I left my room dressed in cargo boots, black jeans, a white t-shirt and a black hoodie. I went into the kitchen and found Seth, Trip, Justin and Amber eating. I stared at them for a moment and rolled my eyes as Justin stood and walked out.
“Got any Lucky Charms?” I asked, getting a bowl.
Seth grabbed me a box of Lucky Charms, “Ignore Justin,” he said as he handed the box of cereal to me. “He's a spoiled brat.”
I poured myself some cereal as Amber glared at Seth, “His problem is he doesn't know who he's talking to. I know people who would have killed him by now,” I said. “My best friend is one of them.”
“Your best friend?” Amber asked.
“Yeah. I'm sorry to tell you this, but the world is not filled with unicorns, rainbows and beautiful people. It's actually quite the opposite, unicorns don't exist, rainbows are science and beautiful people are plastic,” I said.
Seth and Trip laughed and I shoved some cereal in my mouth.
“Why are you so mean?” Amber asked. “It's like you're angry.”
“Is blond your natural hair color?” I asked.
Seth laughed and Trip covered his mouth with his hand, “Don't answer that,” Taven said from the doorway.
“I'm honestly curious,” I said. “Maybe Markus should run some tests. I don't think anyone can fake that level of stupid.”
Taven rolled his eyes as Amber stormed out, “Finish up. You have to go to the lab,” he said. “I shudder to think about when the last time you had your shots was.”
“Um... never,” I said.
“Did you two stay up late?” Taven asked Seth and I.
“Until three,” Seth said.
“Shooting?” Taven asked.
Seth nodded, “I know and I won't be tired today,” he said.
“I don't care,” Taven said, shaking his head. “I don't want you today.”
Seth and I laughed and I poured the rest of my Lucky Charms into my mouth.
“Damn,” Trip said. “Slow down, Ash.”
I swallowed and grinned, “But I'm done,” I said. As Trip laughed, I turned to Taven, “Sink?” I asked motioning to the bowl and spoon.
“Yup,” Taven said. “Go down to floor 15.”
I dropped my bowl into the sink and walked over to the elevator with Trip and Seth.
When the elevator came, we got in and turned to Seth, “If any bodily harm comes to Markus during my “testing”, I'm not responsible. I don't like needles.”
Seth laughed, “I'll keep that in mind.”
The elevator stopped at floor 9 and a black haired boy, who looked a bit like Kelsey, got on the elevator with a brown haired girl, who was dragging a protesting auburn hair boy behind her.
