Chapter 9: Unreal

My eyes flutter open and I'm staring up at the sky. A sky. A dark sky. It's a beautiful night out. My mind and heart begin to race. Why am I outside? I stand slowly, and come face-to-face with a girl. She walks past me and into the alleyway. This girl... Is me. My eyes trail behind her as she continues to walk into the alley. That's... That's the alley behind Pants 'O' Fun... The alleyway it all happened... The alleyway I got kidnapped in. I can see the corner of the car poking out of the darkness, light from the moon shimmering off it. How did I not see that?

"Run!" I shout at myself. The other me continues to walk with determination to get to Ashley's. I try running after her but my feet won't move off the ground. My pulse quickens as the other me stops abruptly at the realization of the figures. The other me whips around, but the figure grabs her elbow. She tries to scream, but the figures hand clutches tightly around her mouth. The smell of cigaret smoke fills my nostrils making me choke. The other me looks at me, it's as if I can read her mind.

Help me.

I try screaming but no sound comes out. The figure slams her face into the hood of the car. I know what happens next.

"It's okay, sweetie," the figure whispers. The voice belongs to Harold. Harold grips my sides harshly and rips my pants down to my ankles. What? This isn't what happened? I see Harold remove his belt from here, oh no!

"Stop it!" I scream, this time the scream escapes my lips. The other me stares at me with pleading eyes.

Help me.

The other me bursts into chaotic screams that seem to shake the world around me. Harold thrusts himself at my naked body, my screams echoing through the alleyway. The walls crumble around me, slamming into me. I watch as the other me continues her screams as the walls continue to fall. I finally am able to spin around. A figure stands before me, making me scream. It's Harold.

"It's okay, sweetie," he croaks, just below a whisper.

My eyes snap open and I'm staring up at the black, clouded sky above. I feel the gross feeling of sweat on my body. Moonlight shines on me, blinding me for a moment. It was only a dream. I begin to stand and realize that I'm laying on the stone-cold, hard cement. I don't even remember falling asleep, let alone falling onto the floor. Wait...

I look around me wildly. I see a large, creepy building off in the distance. It's a hospital. A drop of rain falls from the sky and trickles down my face. I look up at the moon. This has to be a dream. But this is way to beautiful... Way to real, to be a dream. I take a large whiff of the fresh air that my lungs haven't felt in awhile. It takes me a bit to notice the fence circulating the creepy looking hospital. I'm on the opposite side of the fence. How did I get here? Did I sleep walk or something? Even if I did, how did I get past Nate, and... Harold?

I turn away from the fence and see a long road leading down a hill where lights shine from a city. A city!

I take an uncertain step forward, feeling slightly dizzy. A light from a flashlight shines on me from behind. I whip around, nearly tripping on myself.

"I found her!" A figure holding a flashlight, bellows. It's that stupid Pierced Chic! I consider turning and running, but she rips an object from her pocket and points it at me. A gun. No! I can't be this close to freedom, then get captured!

"Freeze!" My mind races, searching for an escape. There's only one way out of this.

"What are you going to do if I don't? Shoot me? Do you want to add murder to the prison sentence you'll be given?" I whisper, hearing shouts off in the distance. It's Harold and Nate. The Pierced Chic lowers the flashlight and the gun slightly.
