Part Three: Anything

Frisk's POV:

"Frisk, wake up! Wake up!" I heard a frantic voice shake me awake and I almost screamed as I saw they were holding a knife.

"What are you doing with a knife, Itia?!" I scrambled away from her, holding my pounding heart.

"There's an attack on the Core! They need help! We have to go and help them!"

"Alphys is in there. . ." I finished for her, looking down, shocked for a second.

Then I jumped up, ready to kick some villain butt.

"What are they doing?" I asked, my voice low and serious, my brain already thinking hard on tactics we could use to defeat them.

"T-They're killing civilians, destroying the Core, just causing chaos! A-And we need to go and stop them. Sans and the group are already on the way. T-They told us to hang back; we're too young. They don't want us to get hurt. B-But we won't be standing back, right?" Her voice was high pitched and she was almost shouting.

As I walked into the living room with her I saw that the others had gotten weapons too. Ophe had found a spear of sorts somehow, Inana held a knife too, Etrix held a frying pan, and Jaylynn held a frying pan and a bottle of hot sauce.

I felt the tension in the air and found myself feeling like I was suffocating as I spoke, "I-If this bad guy is said to be s-so powerful, maybe we s-should just stay back. I've been the o-one to be held back, t-to be told to stay back, a-and it would have been best if I just did."

Jaylynn frowned and stepped towards me, a dangerous edge in her eyes, "We will not watch as our friends go out there and die at the hands of one who is unnamed."

I thought back painfully to the first time I had seen someone die. I remembered how weak I had felt, how much I wanted to fight, the need to be there, to do something, anything.

I let out a shaky breath and opened my eyes, making eye contact with all of them individually.

"Let me grab something, and then we run to the Core."
