Chapter Thirty - Two

Jaehee's Pov

After my talk with Luhan, it was time for us to depart from the cabin. Tao came back with two bags in his hands. "I've packed us food and drinks for the road." He gave one of it to me and I took it without complaints.

Finally we head out into the woods, we followed a path that the vampires might not know of. We had no idea where we were going but as long as we're together, it doesn't matter where we go.

40 minutes after departure, when we thought we had already gone further away from the vampires, we met them again; there were 3 of them, it was like they were waiting for us.

I know Luhan is capable enough to defeat them and Tao is basically strong enough to take them on but what about me? Am I even ready for this?

"Jaehee, stay close to me."  Luhan ushered me behind him, his instinct to protect me has kicked in I supposed.

"B-but I can help." I said in a stutter, I had no confidence in my words and I guess Luhan figured that out.

He turned his head around and smiled at me, "It's fine. You can help next time but right now I need you to stay hidden."

"We won't let them hurt you." Tao said in gritted teeth, he was about to ready to pounce on the vampires.

"But..." I knew they had a point but I still wanted to help out even though I was scared.

"Jaehee, please..." He pleaded. It was the first time he showed such expression, I didn't want to make it worst by staying here and ignored what he said, so instead of arguing I grabbed the bag Tao dropped onto the floor and ran towards a big tree and stayed hidden there.

"Ugh, can we get this over with already?" One of the vamps yawn in boredom.

Are they that strong? Because they don't look like they are.

"Why don't you leave us alone before we whoop your asses?" Tao hissed getting the second vampire's attention, he laughed like it was the funniest thing he's heard. "You think you can take us on? Think again."

"You really want to fight us?" Luhan cracked his knuckles. 

Oh god, Luhan in angry mode is kind of a turn-on.

"Little hybrid, are you scared of us?" The first vampire spoke.

Is it me or is the third vampire not much of a talker? He's been quiet since earlier.

Luhan took a step forward, "Fine. Don't say we didn't warn you."

This big tree is blocking my view but I managed to get a clear view of Luhan's expression.

His eyes changed into the same color I saw the other day, the person I encountered on the roof. 

But it was a little different, this time the color of his eyes were pure red, thick like blood. I could feel the desire to kill from him all the way here.

Not a moment too soon, the first vampire made his first move, he launched at Luhan but Luhan dodged it right on time. The second vampire ran to Tao in the speed of light, he was really fast I had trouble keeping up with his movements.

However, Tao was able to see through him. When the vampire swung his sharp nails at Tao, Tao dodged to the side and grabbed the vampire's hand and flung him away but the vampire vanished in mid air, he appeared right next to Tao who was caught off guard.

Tao tried to block the attack but he was too slow, the vampire triple kicked him in the guts causing him to be blown away by the powerful impact. Tao coughed up blood.

"Tao!" I shouted as I was worried about him.

He put up a hand to stop me from going over to him, he forced himself to stand up and after he did, he quickly transformed into his werewolf form.

There was nothing I could do except watch from the distance, even if I went there now to help, I would only be in the way. 

What should I do?

My thoughts were interrupted when a pair of strong arms wrapped themselves around my waist. I jumped in surprised and looked up to see who it was.

My heart nearly leaped out of my chest when I saw that it was the third vampire who was quiet during the whole conversation.

I opened my mouth to shout for help but he covered my mouth with his hand. He then lift me off the ground and carried me on his shoulder like I was some kind of sack.

Even with these abilities of mine, he was still outmatched for me. There was nothing I could do.

Oh no, he's bringing me away! Luhan!
