A/N
I have been posting a Relient K song for every chapter. If you have a mobile device click on the (I) for information and click on the thing that looks like an old timey photograph thing a ma Bob, and it should pop up.
I run down the street heart racing. I turned left on Garner Dr. I passed by one house, two houses, three houses, on the fourth house on the right side I run into the driveway of my house. I go up the stairs turned right and run into my room. I'm probably on the t.v. right now "WANTED FOR POSSESSING POWERS!!"
I through two tee shirts in my pillow case, also my tooth brush, tiny tube of toothpaste, deodorant, a two pairs of jeans three pairs of socks, converse, my pair of Chcos, and one pairs of yoga pants.
I run back downstairs and run into my mom with her late night tea. She looks at the pillow case and then me. "Going somewhere?" she asked.
"Sleeping over at Sophie's remember?" I said.
"Oh okay then. See you later alliga-" She was cut short by a banging noise at the front door. My mother, bless her heart, the silly person, goes to open the door. Sometimes I wonder if she thinks. I get in to so trouble a lot. She knows that. Still she is that kind of person who will just happily open a door to a psycho killer and offer tea. '_'
I know who they where. Police, government, scientists, you know one of those people. Just what I need. I go to the back door and slip out into the dark night.
The air is cold. It is making my face go numb. Ah Spring's unpredictable weather. And yes we were going to sleep in a tent tonight because Sophie and I are just crazy like that.
I hug the brick wall to of our house. Being as stealthy as a ninja I make it to the fence. There is no gate in the back. I know I'm not coming back, but the light could give me away. I guess sometimes you just have to take risks. I take a deep breath of air and a white ball of fire rests in my hand. I work as quickly as possible, and melt through the fence.
I crawled through the small opening and into my neighbor's backyard, run across their yard, and melt through their fence. I run into the street and keep on running until I couldn't anymore. I got about one mile away from home. The forest! A short cut to get to long country roads. It is perfect. I have to go south from this point on. I get my watch and set it on my compass mode.
I turn until I am facing south. I go straight from there, into heaven only knows what.
+++++++++++++++++++++++
Ow! Stupid tree limb!
I inspect the pink scar the best I could in the dark, from where the twig had snapped and scratched my arm. It really stung. Again ow.
I just started walking again and trip on a root, fall into a patch of thorns, if that is not bad enough I continue to fall downhill until I fall off a three foot drop off, and bust my butt on the hard rock.
Great now I have a billion scratches, most likely badly bruised butt, and a stubbed toe. Not to mention it is pitch black outside and freezing.
I could make a campfire, but that could give my position away. I decide to set my hand on fire so I could see and get a little warmer.
I take a deep breath and light it up. I jump a little surprised at how it did it just what I wanted it to when I wanted it to. I've used the fire before, but I'm still surprised of how answers my every command.
It burned a bright orange and yellow. It swayed a little in the light wind. The flames slowly started to warm my chilled body. I could finally see my surroundings. There was a lot of rocks, big ones not pebbles, surrounding me.
I look a little closer and see a stream of water, a creek. I hadn't heard it before over the sound of my heart beating so violently in my chest.
I was freezing still and, you don't know even the half of it, so tired.
I cross the creek and into, yet, another bundle of trees. I find the driest place to sleep, and the most convertible place, what I found was a bed of clovers. I curled up, shut my eyes, and let myself rest.
+++++++++++++++++++++
Did I wake up pleasantly? You ask. If you call getting woken up to something grabbing your ankle and dragging you across the forest floor, Then yes.
When I was sleeping on my bed of clovers, a something grabbed my ankle and dragged me. It was a strong grip, I wanted to scream, but I couldn't. My vocal chords wouldn't work.
My heart was pounding. My breath came out in harsh, ragged puffs of white air.
Finally I was able to stutter some words. "W-W-What the world?!"
"Shhh!" a voice said to me.
"Oh sweet gummy bears!" I said.
All of a sudden I'm not being pulled. I stay still too terrified to move. A face shadowed by a hood hovers over me. Curly blonde hair spilling out into the early morning light is the only thing I can see of the person. I'm guessing a girl.
She offers me her hand. "We have to go." She said. Her voice confirms my suspicion that she was in fact a girl.
"Look we don't have much time." She said inpatients coating her voice. "I don't know who you are but I am on a mission and have to take you to our campsite."
"But-" I start.
"Do you want to come peacefully or do you want me to drag you all the way there?" She asks.
"Um okay." I said rising my hand.
She took it and pulled me to my feet. "Let's go."
That time I didn't argue with her, she has that much of a strong grip I'm scared of what she can do with a weapon. Oh no hopefully she doesn't have a weapon. Where is she taking me? What is she going to do? Wait did she say our campsite? There are more people in the forest?
This is a lot more of a problem than I thought.
