Emma Michelle goes to Mission Creek High School with her good friend, Leo Dooley. Her normal life quickly turns chaotic as three bionic teenagers show up out of nowhere. Will Emma fall for one of them? Or will she keep her distance?
Make it Shine by Victorious rings throughout the room, jolting me from my sleep. I sit up, blinking while searching for the source. I turn my head to the left to see my phone buzzing on the nightstand. Reaching over with a yawn I flip it over to look at the caller ID:
Captain Awesome
I softly chuckle before answering, pressing the device against my ear. "Hey, Leo. What's up?"
"Hey Em, I'm good. Listen, you won't believe what happened yesterday!" He exclaims on the other end.
I raise an eyebrow as I climb out of bed and walk to the closet. "Oh yeah, you moved into your new stepdad's house. How was it?"
"It was awesome! It's huge, and apparently, I have three new siblings," Leo said as his voice grew louder. Somehow, I figured he was jumping around for joy.
I smiled, "Well, that's great, Leo. So, these new siblings, do I know them? Do they go to Mission Creek?"
My smile turned into a frown when I heard Leo's stutter, "Uh, not exactly. They were, uh, homeschooled! But today they're finally going to school!"
The smile returned while I spread my outfit on the bed. "Well, I can't wait to meet them, Leo. Oh, by the way, pants or skirt?"
"Hmm, go with the pants. Keep it casual."
I tossed the blue skirt back into the closet. "Thanks, Leo! You're the best!"
I could hear his smirk form as Leo smugly said, "Hey, that's what they call me."
"Who, the ladies?"
"Uh, who else?"
We laughed, and I grabbed my outfit before heading towards my bathroom. Finally, Leo sighed, "Well, I should get going. See you at school."
"Okay, see you in a few. Oh, and Leo?"
"Yeah?"
"How did I ever let you change your contact name to 'Captain Awesome'?" I wonder with an eye roll.
"Cause I'm Captain Awesome. Get with the program, Emma," he retorted, forcing a snort out of me.
My blue eyes narrow as I stood straight and motioned a salute. "Sir, yes, sir." We laughed for a few seconds before hanging up. Placing the phone on the counter, I turned on the shower and got ready for the day.

and headed down the stairs. As I walk into the kitchen, I spot my mother checking emails on her computer.
"Morning, mom," I call out while grabbing a red apple. After no reply, I glance over at her to see no change in her stoic expression.
Letting a sigh escape my lips, I say it louder, "Good morning, mom."
"Yes, good morning, Emma. You don't have to say it twice. I heard you the first time," she explains as she stares at me with thin lips. A delicate eyebrow raises across her forehead, almost touching her blonde that's formed into a tight bun.
